Hello AFF readers,

We are planning on taking the kids to the US next May for a Disneyland trip (well adults excuse anyway!).

Qantas released Sale fares to the US yesterday which come back at around $4880 return for a family of 4 on the A380.

Can anyone advise do I buy these fares as the price looks very cheap, or do I just hold onto the cash until early next year as travel is still 9 months away? Our dates are flexible.

Any tips appreciated, and thanks for the great reading.:p

How old are the kids and does the price include taxes and surcharges? Unless the kids are very young, <$5k is very cheap.

Good morning Leumas,

Thanks for your reply!

Kids are 7 and 5. I have been watching prices for a while and thought it was cheap! Price is inclusive of taxes and surcharges.

I'd go for it, and really if anything came in cheaper it would be very minimal.

Really, you guys are excellent!

K3nnis, Theinsider and Serfty your replies have made my decision and I am going to go ahead and book and look forward to my first trip to the US, and in the A380 which my husband is very excited about!

Serfty, the credit card fees add up, particularly when I book jetstar (Hamo Island or Newie to Coolangatta out of necessity not choice!), so your advice about saving cc fees fantastic I'll take it up.

Many thanks again to everyone and happy safe traveling!:D

have a close read on the gift voucher to make sure its done right. Also small chance that the gift voucher wont work online and you need to call, but in that case shouldn't cost you anything.

sometimes on expedia.ie you can get OZ to LAX for < 1000 but thats fairly rare. However, it is easier to deal with qantas if you bought off them in the first place.
