If you desperately want the bag to inflate, just pinch the line between it and the mask. That will, of course, stop the flow of oxygen to the mask, but hey....

Having sat through the new video over a dozen times now I am tired of it already. It is flat and dull (OK but the previous one was more engaging) and way too long. Twice we've been at the threshold of a runway and the video is still going. Crew standing around waiting to switch it off.

Only a safety video so no drama - but a missed opportunity.

Agree with this. I like that they've swapped in new locations, but this version is missing the enthusiasm and freshness of the original. Most of the people speaking are so slow and soft that they sound drunk! Whole thing comes across as trying too hard instead of being playful, honest and refreshing.

Even the locations are a bit ho hum -- Salamanca market for Hobart; Sydney harbour; Barossa Valley. Though I guess you want a mix of known and new.

Interesting article in Australian aviation about the safety videos. Crux is the author of the article thinks they are now too relaxed and tourism ads rather than useful safety vids.

Must admit as much as I like them I do agree that maybe that are starting to loose track of what safety vids are all about.

7 minutes long (!), but there's usually a cut down version for on board.

I tried to watch it but gave up after 2 minutes of cringing.

7 minutes. Anything more than 2:30 will cause issues....
