Qantas Restaurants points - post your successes/failures

I've been doing this for nearly 2 years now very regularly. Points post generally the 3rd week of a month which is clearly a monthly sweep.

Ive had no issues by matching bookings to payouts on a spreadsheet. Ive had experiences like above where book for 6 and only 4 show then get only 400 points but also been paid out 600 for the same example. I've had more come i.e 8 when booking for 6. Only get paid for 6.

Nice side earner kerping the breadcrumbs gathering along with Qantas wellbeing.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

They used to be rather hit and miss, needing many follow ups. In the past 6 months or so, the system has worked perfectly for me. Though I have come across the odd restaurant requesting if I could book direct with them next time! Obviously trying to avoid the fees..

Exactly, that's what I find too. Always keep the confirmation email if you need to follow up.

I've never had that. Sounds a bit rude.

Has anyone tried using an Entertainment Card with a Qantas booking. If so, what was the result?

A little disappointed last night at the Bavarian TTP. Went to pay the bill and the was told the FF machine was out of order. Only about 500 points but still a tad annoying

??

"Qantas Restaurants" earn is a base 100 points per guest pre-booked online. There is no need for a FF machine.

Sorry I meant the Rockpool dining group.
You get 2 points per $1. Just show your FF card when paying the bill

"Sake" in Melbourne proactively asked for my FF at time of paying bill. Apart from great food, service and location, encourages QF point chasers like me to return.

Exact same situation happened to me at Spice Temple - their FF ipad was OOO. However, they took down my FF details and a week later, after following up with an email kindly requesting points posting, the 1800 or so points credited the next day.

I think my experience is instructive in that you should be allowed to retrospectively claim points given that it was a system failure on their part.

Thanks. I kept the receipt so might try.
No biggie as I said as it’s only around 500 points but the service and food was great and it’s only about 30 minutes from home so could become a regular occurrence

  • One of the most frustrating things about the program is Qantas not reporting which venue the points have come from, so you are never quite sure if you received everything unless you are keeping records. It would be much better if the restaurant points program had a pending section on your Qantas account like the Qantas mall so it is easier to track
  • I have had smaller business cancel the booking after I have dined so no FF points are payable, and I don't think it was an accident. I think it is a deliberate strategy to get the benefit of the program and the customers, and not pay whatever fees apply
  • Conversely there are a number of larger venues or chains where you still get points if you don't turn up or have less diners than booked. I think the employees just don't care or not trained in managing the booking system - not suggesting you do this but did get a few points this way ;-) which makes up for all of the other ones I have been paid

Get in quick whilst there is still potential as I just got this email after trying to book a restaurant:

Good whilst it lasted. Tried to book Barchetta Cafe, Cottesloe Beach - not on the list. Booked direct
