Would I be better of in row 37, with the opportunity to stretch out under the seat in front?

I had 36K on a day flight recently and really enjoyed it. I don't remember having issues with legroom and I'm 5'11. There is also no cutout, just a flat wall with a magazine/safety card pocket. I had no trouble climbing out over my sleeping seatmate.
I haven't had row 23 on the A330, but I am almost certain that there is more legroom in 36K than there is in row 43 on the refurbed 747.
I have also had 35B and 37A - they do have more "foot room" available under the seat in front, but I might have preferred 36K again. The recline of the seat in front is quite invasive, and I found this more bothersome than any concerns about legroom.

Mrs_O prefers the window pairs, as she doesn't like sitting next to anyone but me (ahh how cute!!), so on the basis that the 36JK don't have a cut-out, I've gone for row 37 in both directions. I'm sure the bulkhead would be fine for day flight over, but actually I'm now remembering the bulkhead PE seats on CX's A330 where the in-arm TV only extends to some stupid angle where you have to cough your head to watch it. Also, seats with the in-arm tv are normally slightly narrower, so it's definitely row 37 for us. The recline doesn't bother either of us that much, except during meal service, and a polite request to go upright normally solves that.

You will have less room than 36 in that case, and the seats are all the same give they contain the TV in the armrest regardless.

Ah OK, didn't realise the that TVs were all in-arm.

Because of the seat in front of you and the recline of that seat, leg room will be slightly greater in the bulkhead if the option to use a bag as a foot rest.

Hmm, OK. It's not knee (leg) room that is the problem, it is foot room. I can stretch out under a seat in front. A bulk head does not allow that. It's the same reason I don't pick row 1 on the 738s.

I agree 100%. I move back a row or two if I want to sleep. The leg room in row 23 of the A330 is OK for sitting on day flights but I can't stretch out at all. Moving back a row or two allows that and if you get an empty seat beside, you can raise the armrest and get some more sideways space. The seat in front's recline seems less of a problem for me.

We are talking about PE in a 747 though and what sort of legroom bulkheads offer. My experience suggests they are equal to better than the seat behind in leg room but I am not the tallest !

Ah yes. Then if PE on a 747 similar to 737's dom J bulkhead (ie no cut-out), then I choose row 2 on the 737 for the same reason - no stretch room for legs. I'm just over 6' 2".
 
Don't count on it.....my money is on ReLoad sitting closer to the front come boarding time ;)

OK, completely OT, but how do you get a member's handle to appear in bold, other than doing it manually, or is that what people do?

I was in 35J from LAX - Syd on Saturday, its a great little cabin up there for Y customers. Quick service for meals, quite and if timed right no queuing for the loo

Managed to get off plane, clear immigration, get luggage and through customs in 20 minutes as well.

Just to add to this: Qantas PE is excellent - seats, treatment, respect. Big shock then when I travelled Qantas Premium ticket last December Sydney - Tokyo - London but code-share BA frm Tokyo. Sure BA PE seats are a little bigger than BA economy but in all other aspects you're travelling economy. And I think we all know how dreadful BA economy can be. One word if ur thinking BA Premium - Don't!

I can never find any good cabin pictures but the ones I have seen suggest it has 2 windows so I thought the pitch was slightly longer than the rest.

ReLoad would definitely love to hear how you go and see any photos of the seat and compared to others if you can snap a few

Qantas Premium heaps of room, width and legroom tho tall ppl shld still grab aisle seat. So enjoy yr flight. My gripe was BA - their Premium Economy is rubbish.
