I haven't been keeping up with AFF for most of the year, so I can't hope to catch up in all the changes in a hurry. I've only skimmed this thread and a couple of others.

I've been planning a US trip, including various AA & US flights in First (for now, I'm still trying to maintain WP). I've calculated SCs using Mileage Monkey as I have in the past, and I thought I'd better double check using the QF calculator, which is when I realised that the world has changed since the US trip I took last year. :(

So for now, it looks like Mileage Monkey is giving the wrong SC figures. And I'm going to have to replan my trip if I want to retain WP...

And the few good US Airways flights I'd found are probably going to be significantly less impressive when recalculated with the updated SC earning rates. :(

Re: North American AA earning First Class

The poor folk at Mileage Monkey are probably banging their head against a wall trying to work out what the new algorithm is.

Re: North American AA earning First Class

The MileageMonkey distances are still the same. I just apply those miles to the SC earning charts.

Re: North American AA earning First Class

I read somewhere on the weekend the QF program calculation went from 5 fare types and 10 zones, to 8 fare types and a mind boggling 22 zones under the new system.

Simpler it ain't.

Re: North American AA earning First Class

Just flown SYD-SIN-LHR in BA Discount Economy and received less SC and points then I did from my Flexible Economy DRW-SYD last week. Could fly to the UK once a month and wouldn't retain Gold, but doing PER-KTA would! Oh well.

Confirm that JAL Domestic First earns under the everything else table.

HND-cough 549 points and 60 SC for about A$270, and a large comfy chair and very nice lunch
