Re: Non North American *O earning First Class

That F chart will come in handy for me.

I'm looking at some flights for next year (mostly < 750 miles). Unfortunately, I don't see any positives with the new mileage brackets. :(

Serfty. Do your tables need a title. Assume top one is US only?
they have desciptive titles ... Of course I now see the apps don't show them.

Yes the first one is North American and the second other ... Both are for first class.

I have updated my QF Domestic SC earn table - now includes fare classes, type and FF category. I have also removed the FF categories that don't exist on DOM routes to simplify further (i.e for which there is no corresponding fare class).

What's was the minimum points guarantee for an AA flight in First before things became simply and fairer?

I just had a QF FF agent tell me it 1317 miles.

The division between short, medium and long is not strickly mileage based. MEL CNS is more than 1501 miles, but is classified medium, even though MEL BNE is medium and is little more than half the distance. Under the old SC bands, it (MEL CNS) fell in the 1201 to 2400 20/40/80 SC band. Qantas appear to want to extend the domestic medium band to suit themselves. Perhaps it might be pushing it too far to make MEL DRW or MEL PER in the medium band, but you never know. Maybe the new 5 SC for discount economy CNS SYD (or even MEL SYD given a little band milage inflation to 500 miles) could not be too far away.

Where did you get MEL-CNS = 1501m??, MileageMonkey shows 1438m, GCMAP 1432m

If not mileage based, has QF published a list of what routes in what bands?

ISTR It being 500 for any eligible AA flight.

That certainly is the case currently ...

Frequent Flyer - Flying Qantas & Partner Airlines - Flying with Partner Airlines - Earning Qantas Points
Checking back, a Discount economy for 337 mile SFO-LAX on AA credited as 169 base with 169 status bonus with 500 point minimum guarantee being applied (2 x 169 = 338).

A first Class on the same route credited in total as 843 (337 base, 169 cabin bonus and 337 status bonus) being over the 500 point minimum.

Actually my bad. My memory was 1601, but it was faulty. Qantas considers it 1437 - so as well as SYD, MEL was also caught in the 1200 to 1500 move.

Appears correct.
Starter Plus on Jetstar earns in the "Economy category" not Discount Economy.
And it is in the Short Intl Flight intra-Japan classifcation.

Not a bad earn for a 303mile flight

hmm... GK counts as a ~? I thought that was only QF, JQ and 3K.
