Qantas First Class menus

The tasting plate is the same as what is offered in long haul J.
I find if you cross reference many of the J/F menus you find multiple shared dishes with F having some different sauces or accompaniments but essentially the same dish.
QF did mention at last results they are investing in the F catering and service - I wonder if anyone on here has had any indication about the improvements?

Or will we consider this an "enhancement"

QF1 SYD SIN yesterday. I just had the steak as I ate a lot in the lounge prior, overcooked as expected but tasty.
My partner has a dairy free special meal loaded but the crew member serving us couldn't tell her what it was, if there was dessert, and then kept putting dairy based items out (like butter instead of the supplied margarine).

Flight was obviously VERY long but I easily slept over 10 hours straight so those beds in QF First are indeed amongst the most cozy and comfortable in the sky. Service was a bit lacklustre at first but got better once the crew got into the rhythm. I was very pleased to find the Pommery Louise (2006 vintage) still being served on this flight as it’s one of the better premium millesime champagnes in my view. I made this preference of mine very clear so that in the end, the friendly purser offered me a full bottle to take home which I greatly appreciated as it certainly isn’t a cheap one!

For my meals, I could not resist the Steak Sandwich to start though I would have preferred it rather as an option throughout the flight of which there was NOTHING offered at all. Chips or cookies are NOT good enough on a 17 hour flight and QF used to offer sandwiches etc. at least so that was a disappointment which simply felt stingy- as is the sole little caviar canapé instead of a proper First class caviar service.

As a main, I was intrigued by the Tex Mex option of braised beef cheek with tacos and was happy with this flavoursome option. Maybe a bit too small a portion but I made up for it with the excellent rhubarb tartlet and some ice cream for desert. Breakfast the next morning was rather underwhelming with the smoked salmon extremely fishy (and not in a good way!) and the bacon hard and dry. Not really QF’s best though the scrambled eggs were fluffy and nice as usually on their flights.
