Pity - I had a momentary ripple of excitement there.

I will say that after a heap of recent sectors in the past year or so I now think the QF LHR crew are top notch. I find them to be like great BA F crew with a touch of Australian imported charm. Very, very professional. The FA on LHR-DXB was very careful to point out that the tasting menu was just a suggestion and I should feel free to make up my own from any of the dishes. I think PJ has also reported this.
They were also happy to space out the dishes. I had a break before my dessert and cheese courses. Really polished service :)

I have always found Qantas crew charming, although I don't think anyone was ever as good as the BA F staff from say pre 2008. I have just been a bit disappointed with some of my experiences over the last couple of years - particularly going hungry on a dxb- syd flight, due to the inflexibility of the menu and lack of proactive behaviour by staff. I should be more proactive myself and will be if the circumstances repeat, but I don't feel I should have to be.

The tasting menu I had on SYD-DXB was same as Princess Fiona's so no need to upload again. Must say none of the dishes was remarkable, the current tasting is far cry from what it was when originally introduced.

There there however two outstanding dishes on the DXB-LHR leg that I can recommend:

Chocolate brownie with poached pear

Possibly the best dessert I had in the air.

Spinach, cheese and potato bourekas

A welcome change from the predictable and boring eggs/sausage/pancakes breakfast.

Great to know you can swap a few items, was hoping that would be the case.

The bourekas was really the only thing on the recent menus posted in this thread that caught my eye.

Otherwise the menus seem to be offering essentially good J food / variety.

I second boomy's recommendation they were terrific.
The other stand out dish for me was the quail, not on the menu and definitely not J standard.

By any chance, does someone have the QF 1 (SYD to DXB) F Menu from May 2015? I had an amazing pumpkin pasta in a butter sauce dish I would like to try and recreate. Thanks

Was it this one, perhaps?

Interesting there is a market inspiration item, sounds new? Or have they always had it and you have to proactively ask....?

They introduced it around mid 2014 or so IIRC. I think it's proactively offered to full freight F, CL/P1. Others by request.

I also think it might only be available on selected flights from Australia. Did have it once ex-HKG when F was on that route though.

I'm off MEL-LAX in April. Does anyone have the current F menu for the morning flight?
Keen to know what I can enjoy :)
