Qantas Economy Plus Launching Feb 2026

I’m on a Perth to Sydney flight this morning. All the Economy Plus seats are taken, even the middle seats. I did choose an economy plus window seat, but should have stuck with my previously selected row 10 seat, as If have had an empty seat next to me.
If it were the 9:15am flight it went out with no spare seats in economy. As for 11:20 flight ... there's currently one blocked seat showing forward of row 34 ...

The longer the flight the more desirable the extra leg room seats will be (though they will cost more for those who don’t get them for free), and if the flight is full they will fill every seat they need to regardless.

9am flight MEL - SYD today a321xlr. Row 6 (equivalent of row 4) was not selectable for me as WP after checking in. Stuck with my original 7F (Y+). 6D/E were both empty. We had a shadow between myself and lady in 7D (she's also WP). 6A/C taken. 7ABC were also taken.

Too tired to take a look at the rest of the plane.

I did remember seeing that emergency exit was available for me but thought I'd try out row 7.

Must've been super tired if you couldn't crane your neck around to look behind :P

The way the 321XLR is set up, row 8 is standard. The other 2 rows of Y+ is set up directly behind the emergency exit rows so quite far back.

Paying to be further back in the plane, a fair bit further back, doesn't seem to make sense even with the extra legroom.
This is the configuration for the 321XLR from the factory i have to imagine its because the emergency exits have to be at a specific spot and thats how they can re align everything for the back half of the plane.
