Qantas double SCs

Hi guys - new to AFF and wanted to clarify a couple of things on an ASA flight I'm planning SYD-DFW.

1) Does ASA bookings qualify for Double SC's - from what i've read so far here, i think it does?
2) If I cancel or change an ASA booking, do you pay a change/cancel fee and how much is it?

I had recently booked a SYD-DFW flight on classic award (not knowing that a ASA earnt status credits), now i've had a change in my flight date, so am planning to cancel that and since this DSC offer came out, i figure I may as well book using ASA if i can get status credits and claw back some points on the flight as well!

1. if you have received the DSC offer, any QF code flights in the promo period that earn SCs should qualify (ASA does)
2. Change/cancel fee/conditions depend on the ASA booked, you will see the conditions when you book it

Welcome to AFF

Yes, as long as it fits in the timetable of eligibility for International flights.

I just booked a cheap fare BKK-LHR via cheapoair.com with is BA metal but with a QF flight number, do I presume I get double status credits?

It needs to be a flight that earns points/SC's and is marketed by Qantas.

So the flight number is the essential part.

yeah - that counts:
An eligible flight for the purposes of this promotion means any flight with a QF flight number on the ticket where Status credits are normally earned.
Certain fares on QF codeshares operated by JQ are excluded.

Double Status Credits

Hey guys

I just got the double status credit offer for the first time and have registered.

I can't quite understand what is eligible or not.

If i book Jetstar with the + upgrade to get status credits, will they get doubled?

Regards,

JK

Re: Double Status Credits

When I received the dsc offer, I registered then and there. I didn't print out the page. I've just booked a fare and clicked registered again to print out page. I was surprised once pg. came up, it started thank you for registering etc., etc. I thought it would say you've already registered like when I register for hhonour promo and I reclick the offer by mistake.

Has anyone actually flown since they registered and rec'd the dsc? I'll go along with fingers crossed I receive the dsc. I missed out on the qf 90 yrs. extra points as I flew out of lax the night before eligibility occurred. Arriving on the day it started in Oz. didn't count, my oz. domestic flt. did count, so win some, lose some.

I got the Double status Credits offer and registered accordingly by clicking the link, which then took me to a page that said thank you. I proceeded to book an ASA fare in J from SYD-MEL-SYD and having just hit SYD soil it says my SYD-MEL flight accrued 40sc, not the doubled 80sc.

Does it take a while to kick in?

Cheers

My QF double SC JASA was done a couple of days ago (normal SC's awarded immediately) - have not been awarded the bonus double SC's yet.

Jetstar is not eligible. It has to be a Qantas flight number… so anything starting with JQ is out the window.

The bonus SC will come later, you don’t earn a doubled rate unfortunately. Just be patient, and remember it can take up to a few weeks (exact time frame noted in email).

jkay79, the email clearly states:
QF email said:
Fly on any eligible* Qantas International or Domestic flight (i.e. with a QF flight number on your ticket where Status credits are normally earned) from April through June 2012 as well as August 2012 for International travel.
and
* An eligible flight for the purposes of this promotion means any flight with a QF flight number on the ticket where Status credits are normally earned. Status credits may not be earned on some fare types and booking classes including Classic Award flights and Qantas codeshare flights (i.e. with a QF flight number on the ticket) operated by Jetstar or Jetstar Asia other than in Economy booking classes Y, B, H, K, and L (when booked as part of a oneworld fare).

The link takes you to this page. If your flight has a JQ flight number on the ticket, then my understanding is that it won't earn the double SC's (it may earn normal SC's if you bought the bundled fare to get SC's). However if you have purchased the QF codeshare flight number (on JQ metal) then YES, you'll earn.

For parsonstrish and Mute, here are the specific information from the email:

Bonus Status credits may take up to 6 weeks after completion of your travel to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

Ah okay, cheers mate!

I flew on Easter Saturday and still no bonus posted to my account yet.
