Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Yes, that aircraft is A333 VH-QPE that took off from SYD at 1157 AEST on Saturday 28 June.

QF30 arrived ex HKG in MEL today at 1017 hours, 172 minutes late. It transformed into QF35, the 1205 hours MEL_SIN airborne at 1345 with forecast arrival for A333 VH-QPG at 1921 hours, 66 minutes behind schedule.

UPDATE: QF59 was in the sky from BNE at 1604 hours so HND gate arrival should be about 0128 hours, 318 minutes late.
that will be costly for many travellers as there is almost zero public transport at that time available

Is "Cancelled" the new normal for QF? That is a rhetorical question. QF go to a lot of trouble to ensure everyone accepts that the flight schedule is only an aspiration and your bundle of rights may in no way reflect the schedule you relied on when you booked. Even though the schedule is irrelevant to QF, the excess fare they charged for higher demand flights or more acceptable departure times, is only another potentially delayed or cancelled flight.

On Sunday 29 June 2025, QF64 (A388 VH-OQK) on QF64 from JNB arrived SYD 35 minutes early at 1410 hours.

It was most unusually forming QF1, the 1450 hours SYD-SIN_LHR. This is not normal, so presumably another A380 had failed. It took off at 1718 with SIN gate arrival forecast for 2301 hours, 106 minutes late.

The Saturday 28 June QF1 arrived LHR on Sunday at 0855 hours, 140 minutes late with VH-OQH.

A333 VH_QPB as QF59, the 1105 hours SUNday SYD up to HND was airborne at 1234 hours with a 68 minutes late arrival at 2118 hours suggested.

A332VH_EBN is operating the 1205 hours MEL-SIN QF35 that did not take off until 1558 hours, so arrival is likely at about 2127 hours mid evening local time, 192 minutes tardy.

On Tuesday 1 July 2025, strong southwesterly winds have resulted in SYD only using the east-west runway, with arrivals from the east.

Many flights are likely to be delayed. QF740, the 1245 hours ADL-SYD (B738 VH-VYB) took off at 1304 hours, only four or five minutes late, with gate arrival likely at 1547, 42 late after a fairly lengthy holding pattern over the Cullerin Ranges (between Yass and Goulburn, NSW).
