MAKE IT STOP!!!

5 flights in the last week on QF and it's awful. Not only are they wasting money they should be spending on their business on sponsorship but they are shoving it down the throat of passengers who have no interest in sport, let alone the world's most boring sport!

Well with the cricket season almost over, it should stop soon... but not soon enough.

NRL is 7 March through September (a very painful and excruciating six months)

Super Rugby 15 Feb through 3 Aug

Not forgetting they are the Qantas Wallabies...

Flew SYD-ADL-SYD over the long weekend and experienced slightly different approaches.

The first flight was on a BSI B73H and since I was seated in row 4 (where the PTV is in the armrest), I had the pleasure of listening to (but not watching) the full safety demo complete with the introduction and clapping at the end.

On the second flight (with an older B73H), the crew showed the introduction and the safety briefing but the video stopped just before the clapping bit.

IMHO, the sooner they replace this video the better, I am getting tired of this video quickly.

Lets hope those don't use footballers as a substitute, we'll be demanding the cricketers back.

where is John?

matt

Given Qantas is the Sydney airline then football means one of those rugby games.

I can see the video now, grunt, hu'h, grunt, grunt, grunt, giggle.

You won't see AFL really at all on QF since the players have had that big [-]DJ[/-]VA tattooed on their foreheads ...

Good grief, I sure hope that when they finally get rid of that cricket safety demonstration they don't replace it with some people who chase a piece of dead animal skin around a paddock, of any variety. I want to focus on understanding how to fasten and unfasten my belt buckle without any gimmicks.

We would then require sub-titles

If I have to sit through another sportsball related safety video, I'll be sorely tempted to dabble with the 'cool' airline again. :/

No cricket video today - in fact no video at all just audio. Hope it wasn't just a video glitch and this thing is dead and buried!

Or they could go in another direction... I foresee safety brought to us by the "heroes" of Australian Idol. Would you fasten your seatbelt for Guy Sebastian?

I have to say - this video is now officially sh#%%^ing me!!

I have now resorted to being that rude DYKWIA buried in the newspaper as far as I can be just to try and block it out of my mind.

Seriously QF - drop the stupid celebs and gimmicks - save them for your cringeworthy tv ad campaigns instead.

I saw it six times over the weekend and hated it every time.

It is time for a new safety video.

Flew QF24 last night with my husband. It was the first flight he had been on with me since last August, I can't count how many times I've seen it. As soon as I saw it I pointed it and told him how much I hated it. The FA leaned down and whispered "I hear your pain" then continued with the safety demo.

Noted the presence of the Aussie Cricket Team heading through baggage collection at SYD T3 this morning. I didn't recognise a single one of 'em, except for Ian Healey from the commentary team (I'm so over cricket, honestly it's boring now-a-days). Anyway I couldn't help wondering if they show the requisite respect to the cabin crew by watching themselves on that awful and overly-loud video. I watch it fellas, and I hate it. We've had Travolta, we've had the cricketers - bring on Joycey maybe this is one thing he'd be good at?
