Hi,

(I sent this message a while back, but I tacked into onto another message so it might have gt missed - hope this is OK)

We have 2 x Qantas Club Complimentary Invitations & wonder if someone could help.

Our invitations expire end of June 08, but our next trip is in September where we have a really late economy flight.

I have tried the Qantas service centre, plus visiting the Qantas Club lounge at the airport but they said we can't use them past the expiry date & they won't swap (or extend) them.

Would anyone have any invitations that would be valid for September & able to do a swap for us? (perhaps if they were travelling by June anyway)

Thanks,

Gary.

That is interesting. There have been a few reports on AFF of people successfully using Qantas Club Complimentary Invitations up to 12 months after the expiry date and others who have successfully swapped them at the Qantas Lounge for later expiry dates.

I guess status could have something to do with being able to swap the passes or trying a Qantas Lounge other than Perth.

If the worst comes to the worst, you can use them without flying or without flying QF. Just rock up to the QP and have a nice time. Or you could give the invites to a couple who are travelling before 6/08

Is the above correct?

You don't need to be flying to access the QC with these passes ? ( valid passes)

Can anyone help with this?

cheers

The only one's I have seen have included a requirement to be travelling with Qantas to be eligible for lounge entry. There may be some that do not include that requirement.

Up until around 2(3?) years ago the invitations did not require you to be flying QF (or JQ). More recently they have had this requirement.

Thought so...

Another question regarding QC..

I have a few hrs in SYD INT before I fly out to LAX with VAUST.. ( JULY - trying PE)

Do you think I would be able to twist the lovely desk clerks arm to allow me ( and my GF) access to QC for a couple of hours even though im not flying out with QANTAS..

I am SILVER/QC and would have flown into SYDNEY on a QANTAS Flight..

I would ask nicely and dont expect it :)

Just would like some feedback before I try.... and yes I will try.:)

Zero chance of them letting you in if not flying with Qantas, JQ or BA or a codeshare.

It appears that would be a no. If you came off a Qantas flight in Business or First class then you would be allowed I think, but if you're coming from Economy then there's no access.

Otherwise, to get access your next onward flight that day would have to have a QF, BA or JQ flight number.

Understand the above completely... and dont "expect" access at all..

However,

As I have been able to get 4 extra pax in QC before by politely asking.... ( quite a few times)

I just thought it would be worth a go asking .... they can only say no.

I never hurts to ask but be prepared to be denied access to the Qantas Lounge....
