Qantas Club discount for AFF Gold & Platinum members

It’s just expired, so I understand that I have 30 days to renew to receive the reduced rate.
Another warm welcome @Jessica Kruger
Are you a gold QFF member. If so you don't have to renew Qantas Club membership as you already get the benefits. This is probably why you are failing in your attempts to renew. Qantas is saying you don't have to.

Has you gold status or QC membership just expired? (guessing QF club)
While you have QF gold status you QF Club membership goes to hold. When you drop down to silver status the remaining months of QF club start again. QF expiry does not show on the web site profile while have Gold status.

Hi Mwenenzi,
Thanks for reaching out, I don’t quite get what you’re saying sorry. My gold status has expired and it shows as silver now but I was under the impression I have 30 days to renew?

Thanks

I think the confusion is that your profile here on AFF indicates that you're a Qantas Gold Frequent Flyer, so several of us are seeing that and asking why you're trying to renew Qantas Club (given that Gold or higher gets you access to the lounges and any unused portion of your Qantas Club membership goes on pause until you drop down below Gold again).

If I understand correctly though, the situation is that you were a Gold Frequent Flyer who has now dropped back to Silver and what was left of your Qantas Club membership has been used and the membership has now lapsed. Consequently, you're wanting to use the AFF Qantas Club discount to renew, and hoping to do so within the 30 day "grace period" for lapsed members.

The good news, is that it looks like the grace period is actually 90 days per this part of the terms and conditions.

One question for you though.... has your Qantas Club membership ever previously been obtained though a corporate scheme up to and including 2023? If so, note that you need to follow a different process in order to take advantage of the AFF discount. Instructions are here.
