Qantas Club discount for AFF Gold & Platinum members

Hi all,

We've contacted Qantas as to why the code only works for 1 year memberships and not 2, although we're yet to get a response back. Will update you as soon as we get some information back.

Thanks for your patience and support of AFF

Have been a member of AFF for 2 years, and used the discount to purchase 2yr Qantas Club membership in 2024. Its renewal time, so again applied for my 2 yr discount code, and once received, applied it to my Qantas club renewal. It has defaulted to only being a discount for one year, with no ability for the code to be applied for a 2 yr renewal. Have rung Qantas, who told me the only way they can apply a code is through a corporate discount, and that they have no knowledge of AFF codes. (What is that? I don’t know of that website. It’s not in our system.)
Anyone have a similar problem? Am I doing something incorrectly? Any help greatly appreciated 😊

Hi Wolfie,

Just as above - we unfortunately aren't sure why the 2 year discount isn't working. We've reached out to Qantas to clarify from our end, although we're still waiting for a response.

Will update everyone as soon as we hear back

Thanks so much @admin . Person I spoke to at Qantas didn’t seem to have any knowledge of what AFF was though, and although he eventually conceded there was something in the system about it, wasn’t able to apply a code, unless it was from a corporate discount, so couldn’t help me at all.

I am having the same issues, paid member and code I received isn’t working for one year renewal. Qantas no help and I’m getting no response to numerous messages and emails to AFF. Joined primarily for the discount but feel it was a waste of money.

@admin is there any update to the above? Need to rejoin in the next few days, as I have travel booked. Please advise what action to take.
Hi @wolfie mcrobbie, this is unfortunately an issue on Qantas' end, and we're still yet to hear back from them on how to resolve it. We have just sent another enquiry to their team to follow up on this urgently.

I have replicated the joining steps on a relative's account and can confirm that we are seeing the same issue, and have forwarded the screenshot to Qantas for investigation.

@Josef Dvorak, please send a PM to this account (admin) with details of what you've tried so far to claim the discount. In particular, can you see the promo code field when trying to renew? If not, it's possibly because your account is still tied to an old corporate scheme and needs to be manually unlinked by Qantas before it can be renewed via the code. If this is the case, we will walk you through it.

Hi @admin I received your email with the discount code a few days back, thank you, but when I try to renew my membership through Qantas today it says the code is not valid. I called up Qantas and they said that there is no corporate scheme linked on my account. I am totally confused. I am simply trying to renew. Help please, what am I doing wrong?

Hi @Cutty

Thanks for reaching out. Have sent you an email, but we've also reached out to our contact at Qantas to check if there's anything going on from their end. Will update this thread if we hear anything from them.

Kind regards,
The AFF team

Hi @admin do you have an update on this, I still cannot join?
Hi Cutty, please send us a PM with the code you are trying to use and a screenshot of the error you get. Please try the code in both lower and upper case. As far as we're aware, there haven't been any new issues with the codes since the issues in March, which were fixed.

Hi @admin i sent a PM but I don’t know how to add attachments so I couldn’t upload the screenshots. Here is one here with the code removed. Can you please help? I fly Monday and I would like to renew my QC membership now? I have tried both upper case and lower case, and on multiple devices.

Hi @Cutty

We think it's a Qantas issue, as other users are experiencing this. Unfortunately, we haven't got an answer from them yet, but will update the thread when we do.

Thank you @admin . If it comes to the time we're I cannot wait any longer to join so that i can use the club on Monday, if I paid in full upfront would there be a refund policy available for the 20%?

As I was writing this, Qantas have just got back to me - this should be fixed now (although they warned it may take an hour or two to be re-activated for all codes).

Let us know how it goes!

Kind regards,
The AFF team
