Slightly off-topic... Speaking of QP showers, I have been through some Intl QP's before but never used the showers there.
a)are they generally clean and in good condition?
b)do they provide towels for use?

  1. Generally, yes
  2. Yes, sometimes you have to ask at the desk if they aren't in the shower rooms

  1. Yes
  2. Yes and these are normally obtained from the reception desk.

hehehe, well yes and no, secretly I think many men might think that to be true (the "happy life = no wife"), but I have hopes that my fiance doesn't! :)
Good luck.

For some of us it is best to stay single. Not every man needs to go through life being miserable. ;)

No you only get "extra points" if you take your other half on a "qantas club is worth it" run...

I have done an F lounge run but never thought of anyone doing a Qantas Club is it worth it run.:p Use it for the trip back in the afternoon/evening when beer and wine is available.

And conversely for some "a happy life is without a wife"  ;)

Each persons perspective is different, but I most agree with happy wife = happy life.

Oh and join AFF and get the Qantas Club membership; worth it.

Since we are already way off-Topic

Are you speaking from personal experience? Sometimes

happy wife = she's having an affair and you are too tired working 12 hoiurs a day to notice
happy wife = she's spending way too much money on junk and your life is miserable

The divorce rate in western society for first marriages is very high and even higher for second marriages. If marriages were as rosy as some people try to point out then we would not be having the rising number of male suicides we have now. My life is miserable but I am happy being single.

On our last trip to bali in Nov we went with j* from mel via drw to dps with our 2 passes we were able to get into both mel QP with one ticket for a family of four ie two adults and two kids 12,16 we were very thankfull to lovely lady at reception who informed us that while it is normal to take the two passes she would only take one as we had only 1 hour before our flight
so on our return trip via drw we waited for the QP to open at 5.00am and presented our last pass to reception and again was told that you really needed 2 passes but since it was quiet we were welcome to come inside
we enjoyed a lovely breafast and a hot shower and was advised that the lounge closes at 7.00am but we were welcome to stay until she had cleaned up her desk ie 7.45
the motto is once you have been in the lounge there is no turning back
my wife is convinced it is a much more civilised way to fly
gold membership and joining the QC has merits

That was good customer service, engendering goodwill and a probable QC membership. I'd think very worth the decisions to let you and your family in, Bali Belly.

Watch out for the wife pressure. A lot os us here know all about that (I had similar with my girlfriend, now wife). Once she understood status, QC and J class - aaggghh:oops:

Thanks very much for this feedback - this is what I was hoping we could do originally.. Unfortunately I am only a bronze QFF member and don't think if this may work against us in trying to just use one per visit for the both of us.. but your info has let me know that is IS possible - we are still undecided as to if we will join (the OS flight at the end of the year is now looking doubtful, so I don't know if it will be worthwhile), but we will keep thinking about it.

A little more info Has anyone had any experience with a better chance of seat upgrades being a QC member?

I wouldn't rely on Bali Belly's luck. Everyone I know who has used guest passes has been enforced the one pass per person rule, so they really did get lucky.

QP members won't have much more chance than a NB, but will have a little more chance at upgrades (if requesting on points). There's likely to be PS/SG/WP/CL in front of you, so your chances aren't that good (even is QP=PS for the purpose of granting upgrades).

I still think it's worthwhile paying for a QP membership. With the amount of use for two people, you won't be struggling to justify it (especially if you join up via AFF's Corproate Scheme).

I believe the 'rushed' prcessing of a QC membership is 5 days. But normally 10-14 days from memory.

I can vouch for that - I left it a bit late to get my QP membership before a LONE4 and had it delivered by courier within a couple of days. The extra $30 or so for the rushed service was forgotten as soon as I had that first drink!

I was reading earlier in the thread about only 1 person being able to enter per pass.. Does that apply to Children also ? ie could a recipient of a pass take a child in ?

yes if the child is 3 or under, according to the official rules

I would guess that you'd probably be able to to get up to 5 year old in without to many problems.
