Not only the QP but also (in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane) you can access the inner sanctum of the QP, otherwise known as the domestic J class lounge. It has marginally better facilities and offerings than the regular QP but is usually a lot less crowded. Just flash your J class boarding pass at the dragon checkpoints.

... and you are allowed 1 guest too (who must also be flying with Qantas).
Entry into the QP/J-Lounge on a J Ticket does stipulate that the guest must be flying Qantas that day. Some ports will let you sneak a guest in but it is all very hit and miss.Hmm, when did they sneak that enhancement in?
I seem to recall that the rules used say that one guest was permitted with no stipulation that the guest be travelling on Qantas also.
I'm a Qantas FF Bronze member (not qantas club) and have booked return flights to Melbourne in Business class with points + pay. Am I eligible to enter the qantas club, while not being a QC member?
I know it's been discussed extensively but I can't find the thread: does oneworld Sapphire in a program other than QF (in particular, AA Platinum) include entitlement to access QF domestic Business lounges?

No it doesn't. You must be OWE to enter the domestic J lounge.
OW Sapphire does not have access to domestic J Lounge
Eligibility and Access to The Qantas Club lounges
Entry into Domestic " J " Lounge ? Not with OW Sapphire, unless you are ticketed to fly in business on the day...

*Lounge access by tier status does not apply to Qantas Domestic Business Class Lounges.
The difference is that Qantas refer to the special domesitc lounge as the "Qantas Domestic Business Lounge". Note there is no word "Class" between Business and Lounge. Its not a "Business Class Lounge", otherwise they would need to allow OneWorld Sapphire access. Its called the "Domestic Business Lounge", so Qantas can make its own rules regarding access.
So while Qanats welcome their domestic Business Class passengers access to the Qantas Business Lounge, their still differentiate by not using the word "Class" in the name of the lounge.
Qantas Domestic Business Lounges
Qantas marketing and published information about the Business Lounge is very specific and consistent in the use of the lounge name.
But there is the problem! We, the members of AFF and similar groups, continue to call the Qantas Business Lounge the "J Lounge". Its not a J lounge. J implies Business Class, and the lounge name does not include the word Class. Yes, they permit J (Business Class passengers) to use the Qantas Business Lounge, but that does not make it a J (Business Class) lounge. We really should stop refering to the Qantas Business Lounge as theQantas J Lounge. Its not a J lounge at all for Qantas' second tier of most valued passenger, which includes Business Class passengers as well as Emerald Frequent Flyers. And prior to the creation of the J lounges by QF a few years ago, the Qantas Clubs were the 'business lounges', and IMHO still are 'business lounges', at least for the purpose of OW agreements. They have not changed significantly. I do think QF could have saved some confusion and possible embarrassing entry refusals by calling the J lounges something completely different (Galleries, anyone ), but c'est la vie, they didn't.
