QF6 PER-SYD Thursday 11 June 789 VH-ZNF "Boomerang"
sched dep 1030 actual pushback 1026 takeoff 1035 (06)
Nice to be in real J for the run over to SYD, excellent service from CSM Matt (who gave a much appreciated WP welcome) and FAs Omar and Elizabeth. Good to have functioning wifi on board as well, the lack of which was always be big downside of these 789 flights. Very comfortable flight, worth the hassle of the inefficient secondary security at PER.

PDB of Lombard Champagne. Usually this is the poor cousin of the 3 J Champagnes, but it surprisingly hit the spot today.
The menu:

Very glad to see the lamb shoulder with mushy peas on the menu again (and that it hadn't run out before row 8), this was great last time and this repeat performance didn't disappoint, very tender and the accompaniments were perfect for the mid winter setting. For someone who usually prefers beef over lamb, this has become one of my favourite J meals.
The Head Barossa GSM accompanied, a little tannic but paired well with the lamb. Disappointing though that the last 4 J reds I have had were in the $25 range, where even late last year they were serving gems like Wynns Messenger.

Had the cheese platter to finish, accompanied by more Champagne.
Into SYD early without the usual ATC laps of Goulburn, int arrivals dead quiet, into an uber straight away. Not the usual experience!
