Qantas Business Class meals & menus

On board on QF618 MEL/BNE
2 hot options and a salmon salad. I went for the chicken on mushroom sauce and polenta minus the bread.

Completely fine for this flight. View attachment 476365
This main looks actually quite yummie I must say. Definitely acceptable on a shorter Domestic route- I had way worse before from Sydney to Perth over over the Tasman!

I know everyone’s tastes differ but I’m back in Vietnam again now and one thing I always enjoy on VN is their J meals even on domestic flight of around an hour. They are pretty basic meals but always fresh and full of flavour. I bet they don’t cost the earth either

We have only had meals on International legs. But even the J meals on the short hop from Saigon to Singapore in a A321 were very good.

Choice of prosciutto salad or chicken curry.

The salad was OK but I feel they have changed the bread flavour and it wasn't as good. Bocconcini balls should be banned ;)

Xanadu Chardonnay was the white and rejected after a sip

The Koko Black isn't dark enough for me.

Xanadu Chardonnay? No wonder you had enough of that plonk after the first sip o_O

Hardly plonk IMHO. A very solid Margaret River Chardy from a quality producer. Also probably one of the more expensive J wines that QF serves.

Having said that, totally understand if people don't like it as wine is a very personal thing. However, plonk it is not.

Yes it just wasn't to my taste.

Haven't seen this reported anywhere yet ...

Qantas unveils 70 new domestic menu items featuring Aussie flavours

On the business class menu, are garlic prawns with parmesan cream and fettuccine; lamb and rosemary pie; smoked salmon with zucchini pickles and lemon dressing, and a brie and onion tart with beetroot relish and rocket.

In an effort to ensure passengers do not get the same meal every flight, the menu is structured around a six-week rotation cycle.

Qantas Group chief customer and digital officer Catriona Larritt said the new menu was designed to showcase the best of Australia from pastries to bush tucker.

Bush tucker .....

Among the companies supplying Qantas, are Sydney’s Simmone Logue and Manna from Heaven, and Queensland’s Handmade Food Co.

Ms Larritt said the menu also deepened partnerships with First Nations business, including DreamTime Tuka by Uncle Herb Smith and Cooee founded by Terri-Anne Daniel. Both use authentic Indigenous bush ingredients in the production of items such as macadamia butterscotch cake and jam drop cookies.

Australian cookies.

Hands up who gets the garlic prawns first.

Executive traveller is so far gone being reputable when it comes to publishing Qantas news. Their noses are so far up Qantas’ you know what and make everything seem like Qantas is the best thing ever.
A new selection of pies and tarts do not make an improvement to the previous selection of pies, tarts and cheeseboards.

I'm a bit suspicious of their accuracy too, after they revealed the exclusive scoop that Qantas would change all flights ex NRT to HND.

Over 10 months later and still no confirmation by QF, or follow up from ET, about that announcement. Any serious journalistic outfit would've followed up by now.

Yep that and all the re-using of old articles, it is such a poor source these days. I miss when it was AUSBT.

QF29 Melbourne to Hong Kong - all in all pretty good.

I really still think they should serve mains on a larger plate, rather than the same sized ones used for entrees.

Would just make it seem "better".

Guess it's just easier to load the one size for consistency and logistics.

I don't get the hate for the vinaigrette - sure it's a simple salad but the sauce isn't bad. I even used a bit of it on the salmon salad entree and it made it even better than it already was.

QF994, HBA-SYD with an 1125am departure, 27/10.

Two egg based options

Pumpkin and halloumi quiche

Potato and capsicum frittata, comes with bacon

I think that’s how they were described. I took the potato and capsicum but it was mostly mushroom, which i was ok with but wasn’t described that way. The pumpkin and halloumi from what I could see had a pastry on the outside, whereas mine did not

As far as this type of egg based things go I would say it was on the better side of average and I quite enjoyed it

I went with the mozzarella salad, then beef then mousse for lunch. Barra for light meal later on

Also have photos of the meal loaded for child meal. Didn’t get the light dinner for child meal as he was asleep, but they said was a chicken sandwich (hot). Honestly on the return will consider just ordering from main menu as it wasn’t much chop. The main was a chicken breast and it was dry as

I was fairly happy with all of it from main menu. Also had the pastrami burger along the way which may have been the highlight (didn’t take a photo)

Lunch: (excuse extra bread plate, helping child get some butter on)

Child meal (minus some initial snacking prior to photo):

Light Dinner, apologies had already started hooking in

Edit to add: Foccacia with main lunch was horrible. Very dry and stale.
