This main looks actually quite yummie I must say. Definitely acceptable on a shorter Domestic route- I had way worse before from Sydney to Perth over over the Tasman! On board on QF618 MEL/BNE
2 hot options and a salmon salad. I went for the chicken on mushroom sauce and polenta minus the bread.
Completely fine for this flight. View attachment 476365
I know everyone’s tastes differ but I’m back in Vietnam again now and one thing I always enjoy on VN is their J meals even on domestic flight of around an hour. They are pretty basic meals but always fresh and full of flavour. I bet they don’t cost the earth eitherThis main looks actually quite yummie I must say. We have only had meals on International legs. But even the J meals on the short hop from Saigon to Singapore in a A321 were very good.I know everyone’s tastes differ but I’m back in Vietnam again now and one thing I always enjoy on VN is their J meals even on domestic flight of around an hour. Xanadu Chardonnay? No wonder you had enough of that plonk after the first sip![]()
Yes it just wasn't to my taste.Hardly plonk IMHO. A very solid Margaret River Chardy from a quality producer. Also probably one of the more expensive J wines that QF serves.
Having said that, totally understand if people don't like it as wine is a very personal thing. However, plonk it is not.

On the business class menu, are garlic prawns with parmesan cream and fettuccine; lamb and rosemary pie; smoked salmon with zucchini pickles and lemon dressing, and a brie and onion tart with beetroot relish and rocket.
In an effort to ensure passengers do not get the same meal every flight, the menu is structured around a six-week rotation cycle.
Qantas Group chief customer and digital officer Catriona Larritt said the new menu was designed to showcase the best of Australia from pastries to bush tucker.
Among the companies supplying Qantas, are Sydney’s Simmone Logue and Manna from Heaven, and Queensland’s Handmade Food Co.
Ms Larritt said the menu also deepened partnerships with First Nations business, including DreamTime Tuka by Uncle Herb Smith and Cooee founded by Terri-Anne Daniel. Both use authentic Indigenous bush ingredients in the production of items such as macadamia butterscotch cake and jam drop cookies.
