Qantas Business Class meals & menus

The look of the pie rings a bell.
I travelled ADL-MEL last week on a lunchtime service.
I had similar , again no choice .
The pastry was tastless and dry -the contents included carrot, peas and minimal meat .
The accompaniment was mashed potato.
No tomato sauce was boarded.
I just can't believe that QF makes such little effort to offer edible meals on business class meal time flights.
To be fair, the chocolate was good.

The only premium item on your tray is the roulade of butter from Pepe Saya. Truly poor offering

Still don't get how butter can be that premium. It's still butter, maybe a few cents value if you're a foodie, but still just cows milk.

The "premium" part is mainly because it's cultured butter, made from creme fraiche (fermented cream) instead of fresh cream. This gives it a more intense flavour and nicer texture.

Pepe Saya is quite highly respected by the local culinary scene, and generally considered to be the first Australian butter made at scale to rival the quality of good French butters.

The single serves on QF are worth $1.50ea RRP, or ~80c by weight if bought in a standard 200g block.

I disagree with a lot of Neil Perry's decisions, but something I think he does well is select high quality local producers and champion their products - Koko Black is another example.
