Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Always thought that I main meal was the standard (except for F) but the wording of this menu is a bit ambiguous!
EDIT: Actually this menu was pretty clear that it was only snacks, it was a SYD-HND one from a few days ago the was unclear.
That is the one I quoted...

Pre COVID it was clearer - I guess that made it more difficult for the FA's to deter PAX from taking advantage of this. Generally Qantas FA's hate it.

Most airlines don't allow two meals? My question was more along the lines of whether you can delay it, and why refer to other 'dishes' if they are just the limited snack menu (which has been answered).
I usually just say to the FA that if there are any mains left after service can they let me know so I can get one (because I'm usually still hungry).

Soup (I think it was chicken but honestly I don't quite recall) on today's MEL-SYD afternoon flight (QF448). Maybe I haven't been paying attention but I don't think I've seen soup offered before in domestic J.
That’s the chicken and corn soup…had a few times and prefer the pea and mint.

Soups been out for at least the last 4 weeks with the menu update…whenever it was recently introduced

21:00 departure

The three choices were a cheese plate, chicken & corn soup or a Croque Monsieur.

It wasn’t bad, but it was literally just plain bread with melted cheese - served with a slice of sourdough bread. This meal can’t have cost more than about $2-3 to put together.

Fail! Soup or the cheese platter ... bread on bread ... then choc on choc with the Koko Black and Lindt balls ...

Have the new upgraded J class meals started yet - this looks pretty light on!
Maybe that's because it is a shortish flight.
I travel every couple of months BNE-PER - it is a long enough flight so hopefully there will be an improvement in quantity and quality.

declined the Apricot Danish:

That was the best bit of my recent J flight breakfast.

5 April SYD-NOU - cant remember what the hot breaky was described as

9 April NOU - SYD - Pork Filet (other option was mussaman beef), vego guy sitting in front of me had to have the whY pasta because he didnt specify a J vego meal ahead of time. The persion love cake was so dry it did not get eaten. the koko black easter bunnies were a nice touch for an Easter Sunday flight

My first flight on an E190 in J. Love the J cabin layout, light pax load (4/10) and the dinner (Shepherds Pie and mushy peas) was really tasty. The Beerenberg Tomato Chutney elevated the dish enormously - the CM Fiona gave me a generous dollop as I’d given the crew chocolates. Also got 2 Lindt balls just before descent

As a Coeliac, I've been diligently putting Gluten Free meal requests into booking requests.

With so much business class flying - I see the same meal time and time again = Rice with a chicken/chick pea sort of "curry" - it's NOT ONLY Gluten Free; but Kosher, Halal, Hindu, Dairy Free, Taste free and who knows "what-else FREE"

I see my fellow passengers enjoying a wide variety of different meals, and think - I could eat that. I only need Gluten Free (not all the other FREE options) - and the normal tray and menu selection can include any number of GF items.

It is obvious Qantas are keeping costs down with SPML requests - having one meal for a number of SPML categories - but I've decided to give GF a miss.

I now take my chances with onboard options offered - and now enjoy the inflight meal offerings. It's a shame that GF has been bundled together with all the other FREE options....

I'm now a happy flyer eating a wider selection of foods that suit my diet.

There are risks, but I've not had any adverse affects to date !

Vegetarian here, same complaint over the last few years. Now that they've introduced the plant-based dining options in international routes I'm pretty much covered. But Ms Cognac has more specific dietary requirements and she gets the very short end of the stick.

For domestic flights I'll just skip the meal and eat something in the lounge. Except maybe SYD, where if I'm hungry I actually prefer buying something that has a bit more quality control.
