Qantas Business Class meals & menus

A croque monsieur should be an absolute delight. Make it extra decadent by adding some fresh truffle.
My son had one in the LAX First lounge. (Well, I actually took it away to him as he was luggage sitting down at check-in. Of course, I had to have a glass of Champagne while waiting!) It looked absolutely delicious and decadent, and he loved it.

Pretty sure they just straight up ran the menus through Google Translate. There's at least one obvious grammatical error, and the drinks section is English only (same as every other Int J menu I've seen). Other wise the barramundi is OK, and quiche is good.

Week #3 of QF10 PER-MEL 2 Oct

Inflight Entertainment updated (thankfully) but the menu still the same as September

3hrs late departure due to a scratched tinting window, the PDB bubbles were gratefully welcomed...

received_805769870674278.jpeg

No sourdough on offer today...

20221002_161933.jpg

I wouldn't normally choose the salad, but this one was fresh and tasty

20221002_163334.jpg

Red grapes today.. and a generous serve of muscat

20221002_165147.jpg

A tub of Maggie Beer to finish

QF645 B738 SYD-PER 1F now.

Lois sparkling is indeed the current offering - good stuff.

Black pepper beef with (too much for me) rice - pretty good.

Sugar bomb cake thingy and horrible sickly Lindt ‘chocolate’. Massive (ongoing) fail. The b@stards are softening us up for the ‘new normal’. 😡

STILL NO CHEESE 🤬🤬

Lambrook shiraz - good.

CSM just informed me that B738 cabin crew has been permanently reduced by one. 😳

OK. PJM and I both did not eat the Thing in the Box or the Thing in the Wrapper.

Initially I said: "Let's ask the CSM to give them to some kids down the back."

Then I said: "No let's take them home for M**** (my 6yo grandy.") - which we did.

I'm struggling to get him to even consider eating that cough. He ate one of the Things in a Wrapper - but asked if he could spit it out if he didn't like it. The Things in the Box are rotting on the kitchen bench...

We're being totally suckered by QF... 🤬🤬🤬

QF782 PER-MEL evening flight.

Bevvie offered after departure a "sparkling or a Shiraz" No white wine other than the sparkling? No.

Sparkling was an Adelaide Hills job

For mains, Pepper beef with fresh shallot garnish chosen over chicken. Pretty good.

Drinks with dinner were a Semillon (which had been teleported in, apparently), a Shiraz or the sparkling. The Shiraz was chilled and from a little bottle 😱. Complete cough for transcon J. Maggie Beer (🙄) icecream.

October menu is loaded!

PDB of still/sparkling/bubbles

received_805769870674278.jpeg

Drinks came around first... full service, with a Penfolds Max's shiraz, sparking water, and almonds

20221006_172142.jpg

I went with soup for starters - choice of bread was back, too:

20221006_175821.jpg

Lamb shanks for main

20221006_183109.jpg

Although visually unappealing, the minted peas were fine

The "Maggie Beer Ice Cream" option delivered something sub-par: a minature icecream sandwich:

20221006_184923.jpg

This is 'Pat & Sticks' Vanilla Lace, apparently. Frozen solid like a hockey puck, the biscuit was tacky under finger heat, and insanely oversweet for my taste. My advice: check with your FA exactly what is being served if you want to ice cream option. I won't be going to Pat & Sticks route again...

Coffee and digestif to finish:

20221006_191333.jpg

I noticed a familar square shaped bottle under the coffee trolley as it passed by, so obliquely asked "What do you have on offer on the second shelf?" and was told "There's cognac, muscat, single malt, and Cointreau..." The last item is not on the drinks menu, but a favourite, so I happily nominated that choice, and was served a generous pour.

"Would you like a chocolate to go with that, Mr. Jukebox?"
Me: It's Lindt, isn't it?
"Yes"
Me: No thanks.

I loved the pats and sticks ice-cream. Might have been the 8 glasses of vino beforehand but it hit the spot!!

QF841 DRW - SYD

Choice of Black Pepper Beef or Creamy Chicken.

Wasn't bad at all. Maybe I was hungry though 😅

View attachment 302408
Just had the beef on MEL-CBR this evening. Was the only option but was absolutely delicious. Service was very efficient and good.

WEL-MEL this arvo was a lamb skan_ or the very common creamy chicken. Tried the lamb which was alright. Service was awfully awkward and amateur.

Was stuck in economy on the way to NZ - beef ravioli and veg or a chicken salad was on offer. Had the ravioli which was possibly the worst meal (economy or otherwise) I’ve had in a very long time. No presentation, no taste and just generally revolting. A far cry from the great qantas trans-Tasman economy product I remember pre Covid.
