Just booked a friend a LHR SYD via BKK in F saw that they have downgraded the aircraft so called today

they said at first no chance when I asked them to check LHR HKG SYD( there were no seats showing HK SYD) they came back with a yes in F on A380 HKK SYD.

be quick if you have any bookings.

I would imagine anyone that has an F ticket via BKK should have the right to change the stopover city to one that is serviced by an aircraft with F, but then, Qantas may not see that same right

You might still find yourself on Jetstar between BKK & SIN, if BKK is your destination or origin.

And they keep changing the flight times of the SYD-BKK sector.Had my second notification from AA today with our flight in July.Did have 2.45 hours between our BNE flight and the BKK flight-now down to 2.15.Cutting down on our Flounge time!
The AA notification in January also showed the change in aircraft.

I wonder why they didnt just tell BA to do the route with the 777 and pull out?

That is dead set cruel:evil:

I THINK he is saying that qantas should re route the pax lhr sin syd or lhr hkg syd as I have done.

Indeed, you’d think if you’d booked F, the airline should reroute for you to get F (if BKK wasn’t your destination of course, because nothing you can do if it was).

I’d imagine you’d still get SC as if it were F though, per the booking class booked into?

This is not good at all. I have a return economy flight SYD-BKK in April/May and if I had known it was an A330 I would not have booked it. There is no way I want to spend 9+ hours in an A330.

Still no email notification of changes so perhaps these flights will be OK.

P.S Why do airlines continue to think that passengers will settle for any changes they will dish up?

Because they sell a service (point A to point B) as oppose to a product (A380 versus A330), despite using the product to advertise the service. Probably a little deceptive really, but as everyone does it it’s not really policed.

If your destination/origin is BKK, then perhaps you can try (or insist) on going SYD/MEL-HKG on the QF A380, then connect to the CX HKG-BKK 744 flight with F. Although you'll probably need to overnight in HKG, and I'm not sure how well they'll entertain such an option... but then, they are the one who cancelled you first.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

We have been through this argument a number of times.

Even in economy there is huge difference in service between a 747, A380, A333, A332, 763 etc. It gets worse in premium cabins as how could one compare a skybed MKI or MKII to the seats on a 763.

Hasn't happened to me yet and I am keeping a close eye on this one.

It's happened to me - J A380 back to J 747......twice:evil:

I'm the sort of person that will fly a non OW airline to avoid a sloping bed.

Was it possible to ask for a full refund if the flight schedule changes even slightly ? Say half an hour for a non-refundable fare without penalty?

Just curious as to what the difference in the economy seat between the 747 and 330?

From memory

- More bulkheads on 747 (including row 41 in mini cabin with crew rest in front)
- Forward bulkheads are not bassinets on 747
- Much more legroom in bulkheads with the cut out on 747

So that only affects a small minority of seats. Yes people have preferences when it comes to ac type, but I think you are clutching at straws when you state that there is a massive difference in Economy between the 330 and 747. The majority of seats on both types have the same width, pitch and IFE (prior to the refit?), so I fail to see a massive difference- effectively you are still squashed in like sardines.

Yes row 40? The cut out makes a big difference.

You could also argue the spaciousness of the 747 can add a traveling advantage / dimension. Certainly my preference as well.

They even taxi smoother.
