The A330 just doesn't have a romantic-type feeling of the B747. I know that sounds silly, but a little nostalgia is nice sometimes. When in an overseas port and having been on tour for a long period, when that QF B747 pulls up at the gate I always get a nice warm feeling. Stepping on board I then feel settled. Ok call me crazy.

Don't tell Ben Sanidlands that, he was **** canning Qantas the other day for still running 747's, when, in his opinion their competitors such as Singapore have (or about to stop) using them. Pity he only concetrated on Singapore, otherwise he would have seen that several other major carriers still fly 747's, indeed many in worse shape than Qantas units in terms of age, fitout and amenity, read BA, Cathay, United, Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, Malysian etc etc etc.

Well the current Qantas sale has Bangkok ex-MEL at $799 return in May. I have NEVER seen it this cheap!

It's been no secret that QF are becoming more SIN-centric

Not sure how SIN-centric they are trying to become. They didn't even bother turning up to the NATAS fair last week (largest travel expo in SIN), and basically let BA did all the work. Jetstar had a sizable presence though (and so did SQ, LH, and AY). But just as well... a SIN friend told me a couple of days ago that she would rather fly Jetstar than Qantas to Australia...

I don't suppose anyone on here is flying QF23 on the 7th of April and is sitting in 2E I had 2E/F on the 9th but changed to the 7th and someone has 2E only. Best I can get now is row 4 :( Any chance qantas would give preference to two ppl traveling together?

Hi Serfty, thanks for the tip. Constantly thinking about it but usually only do 1-2 international flights a year so didn't really think I'd get much value out of it. I have the free subscription that should allow me 1 alert shouldn't it?
