Being a Perthite I'm not sure it will be such a downgrade. IME you can nab PER<>East Coast flights for $200~220, doing it this way allows you to select your desired fare class and travel whenever, etc. Plus can now use to more destinations.
No, this was in the welcome pack with the card.
I didn't receive that kind of letter. I received mine on 3rd August. I've taken a snap here. Basically the letter the card is stuck on. A card telling me how to activate and two T&C brochures.

So after 31st Oct can use the Amex Ultimate $450 travel credit to fly QF to from any domestic city? or International too?.

No route restrictions - just must be a QF flight.

AMEX have said they aren't promoting these new features publicly because they don't go live until 31 October. Existing customers are being advised of the changes now because of the legal notice period.
