My wife and I both have our bonus points posted within our AMEX account, and we only activated the cards a fortnight ago, so I'm guessing they'll transfer across when the first month statement is posted.

$1.5k spend per card is a very generous level to obtain the bonus points isn't it.

Have had the card 2 weeks and have managed the spend (normal stuff) and referred my husband who was also approved. Can see 130,000 plus purchase points sitting in my Amex account.

Especially for a seemingly top-of-range card.

Same. Well, I adjusted it down from $30k

I wasn't given the option to nominate mine, and was absolutely shocked at the amount I was approved for without asking.

You are asked if the amount they approve you for is what you want and if it's too high you can select minimum amount or a nominated amount.

Well, points have been transferred this afternoon. So I'm guessing AMEX has an automatic transfer date to QFF mid every month, as we definitely haven't had the card for a month yet.

This was quite some time ago. I either glossed over (very possible) or was not given the prompt, and subsequently terrified myself. Thankfully, amount applied for is not forwarded to VEDA (now equifax).

It's actually pretty easy to miss in the application. There's only a checkbox for the limit question and it is automatically selected for the 'highest possible limit', which you need to uncheck to be able to set your own - it's very easy to gloss over.

Indeed. As much as one wants to get the application over and done with quickly it's important to take it slowly to pick up these things. Whilst Amex might not pass on the amount applied for to Equifax many other cards do.

Yeah, looks like they automatically transfer all QFF points out middle of every month. You would think that it does provide AMEX financial benefits doing all of their QFF Card transfers in one hit each month (especially in respect to their systems configuration).

It's good to have a 'known' date for future reference.

How long from card activation and required spend does it normally take for the 100K QFF points to arrive?.

I got my points around the close of the first month when the the first bill came. It was very quick. Ended up getting over 100k points in my QFF account within a month of getting the card. Very impressed.

The bonus points hit your Amex account very quickly after the required spend. They sit there until the sweep date into Qantas.

You will still get the bonus points if you have only held a DJ Amex card in the last 18 months - they are the only card types which are judged separately for bonus point eligibility.

Was approved for the card overnight (received a text msg ) how can I be sure that I get the 100K points despite holding a DJ Amex ?

I would call them, they are pretty decent at answering questions and the two times I have contacted them it has been sorted and finished in under 10 minutes.
and if it turns out you are not eligible you can cancel it with them.

There was nothing that made mention of bonus points eligibility when I signed up, it is just a waiting game to see if points arrive.

Ring AMEX or confirm via the online chat. You'll be fine though as long as the DJ card is the only one you've held in the last 18 months.

I did call and they confirmed I am eligible so happy days...thanks for the advice

I've only had bank issued AMEX before so I'm eligible. Now I just need to do the required spend then hope that my upgrade requests are successful to use the points.
