Two months ago, I was watching my QANTAS frequent flyer points (QFFP), as I had 950k QANTAS frequent flyer points. I was waiting for my credit card bonus points to land so that I could crack the 1 million mark. At the beginning of March, I was notified that the points had hit my account. When checking my account, I notice no significant change to my points balance, despite the transaction in my history. I thought it might just take some time to update. Three weeks later, still no. I've attempted to contact QANTAS, but they haven't responded to me.

Has anyone else had this problem?

uh well the CC points should show in your account activity - you write the "transaction in my history"? do you mean via your CC provider or your QFF points activity? if QFF activity then you'll probably need to chase up with QFF.

if you mean you met the required spend with your CC provider to get the bonus points they usually (in my experience) post with the usual CC credit cycle for the card.

Any particular reason you are wanting to get to 1m points balance quickly?

I should note, that I have a reward booking flight in my cart, but never booked. There are no QFFP redemptions in the last 3 months transaction history.

The points show in the QANTAS frequent flyer portal as having been delivered, but the balance didn't update accordingly.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Gloating rights :D and should be a DYKWIA behaviour which should be encouraged :p Next post maybe along the lines of "have 1M QF points and cannot use them" waits others have posted along similar lines. @Bolt no offence intended, I have met and bantered with @RichardMEL over the years, once you get to your points goal start using them. IMO having points for the sake of having points is of little value unless you have a plan to use them.

And the next problem you'll have is using them. :)
That ain't no joke Matt, we have 800K+ QF points, and we can't find a flight to use them on, domestically nor internationally. The best we have so far is FCO-PER in Y in June with not too much hope of getting better seats.

Yeah! Exactly! DYKWIA. I have a million points. I don't want to drop to nobody knows who I am anymore points status. /s

I have all sorts of credits waiting to be used too.
QANTAS flight voucher
Amex QANTAS voucher
Jetstar cancelled flight voucher

I desperately need to use those first, because they expire.

As for the points, I just wanted to crack the million points mark just cause. But I think something has gone wrong. Who would I talk to at QANTAS that won't dismiss me as crazy?

Sorry if I have caused you offence, my question is do you only look for rewards on QF metal or are you happy to pay the points penalty to use partner airlines. I have well north of 1M QFF points and prior to Covid Mrs&MissM could easily burn through 600K-1M points per year be it with QF, QF partner through flights or just using the OWR 318K rules cap. Out of curiosity I have looked up rewards flights via my daughters account (NB) and the availability available to her is exactly the same as I can see as a P1, QF availability is a different story. As for your FCO-PER flights in June when were these booked as the world started to open up rewards dried up pretty quickly. When booking rewards I work on the basis that I am competing for the few seats released with every other OW member across all programs with points to travel on any given day.

Some would say they all would...

My comment was made in jest and did not meant to cause offence. My first call would not be to QF it would be to the bank as they are the ones sending the points to QF. If you have not already done so ask the bank what date did the transfer occur and get them to confirm what was the QF account they were sent to in their system. Calling QF in the first instance will most likely lead to further frustration as QF will put it back to the points earning partner. I have only applied for 2 CC for the sign up bonus in the past 6-7 years the fist was ANZ, I hit the minimum spend within 2 weeks and had to wait for the 3rd statement cycle for the bonus points to land in my account. The second was WBC again hit the minimum spend in the first 2-3 weeks waited the 90 days then after 2 escalations, using the online complaints portal and a 3rd escalation I received the points at about the 6 month mark. I don't even worry about some of the rats and mice partners listed on the QF shopping site as it is just not worth the effort.

Matt - there was no offence at all!! Your coments are totaly valid of course. Our problem was a Conference cancelled 2 years ago was belatedly re-sheduled to June this year, but no-one in my wife's Nursing group thought about attending it until about a month ago, so we have been behind the eight ball from day one. Appreciate all the difficulties, and I was referring to the ability to use QFs points on most OW airlines anywhere between PER-DFW-FCO or PER-TYO-DFW etc. I think I have it covered and hope to book them all tomorrow using the many AA points we had refunded after the Conference was cancelled 2 years ago. When those flight were booked, not only did we book about 9 months out, the Conference was in AUH in March, so it was quite easy to find availability.

I forgot when I passed 2m (humblebrag) but yeah using them... oy......

but that's a whole other topic
Pfft and yes a whole other topic. I have seen 'Up in the Air' to many times and for a while it seemed like it was on every carriers IFE, pinching the words from Ryan Bingham "I have a number in mind" :p

Hoarding points is a poor strategy as they tend to get devalued from time to time and, as Ansett hoarders discovered, without an airline the points are worthless.

Hah! Yeah! I have a number in mind. I've seen the trailer but not the movie.

Edit: Just saw this.

No offence taking at all. I thought your comments were funny. I didn't mean to come across the wrong way either. I guess written comms have that drawback.

So, the points transactions in your transaction history don't add up correctly? If the points posted, but then the total isn't correct?

If the points have posted to your transactions, but the balance/sum isn't correct, then Qantas Frequent Flyer general contact would be your point of call.

Yes, that's correct. The points were posted, and the transaction history shows it there, but it doesn't add up.

The Frequent Flyer account doesn't provide a ledger to show this per se. If you knew what your points balance was prior to the points posting, and have noticed that it hasn't increased after the points posting, then you can say that something went wrong. This is the case that I'm facing.
