The restaurant we're looking at currently is in Fortitude Valley. Just waiting to confirm the booking, but either way it will almost certainly be close to the CBD (either walking distance or a short train ride away).

Hmm areas of the Fortitude Valley are not very good at night. The walk to the train station is not safe. What about the customs house/riverland area.

We looked at a few options but it's not that simple finding a centrally located restaurant that will accommodate such a large group on a Saturday night, without requiring full pre-payment or an expensive set menu, etc.

It's impossible to please everyone but I hope that the restaurant we've chosen will suit most people. If you're concerned about the short walk from the train station, you can always get an Uber or taxi.

We now have a reservation with Golden Palace Chinese Restaurant for 7pm on Saturday, 28 November.

We'll order the $55 Peking duck banquet set menu. If you have dietary requirements, please let us know in advance and the restaurant will accommodate these.

BYO is available (wine only) for a corkage fee of $8 per person. Other drinks will also be available for you to buy directly from the restaurant's bar on the night.

As we cannot split the bill, please bring cash with you on the night ($55 for food or $63 for food + BYO corkage) and give this to @DC-Treks at the start of the night, who will then settle the bill with the restaurant.

If you would like to come, could you please confirm your attendance in this thread. If you have any dietary requirements, please also advise of this when you confirm your attendance.
