Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Must be very regional, like our states I guess. Or based on age? As soon as son was out of quarantine he was out hitting the pubs etc and prior to his arrival his partner and family took a trip from South London to the Wirral. Luckily before Manchester and Liverpool went bad.

Anyways, Oxford Vaccine is certainly hopeful.

That should assist if you don't want to sit next to an anti Vaxxer on a flight or worse, Pete Evans 😁

Yes, every country in the UK sets its own laws and regulations in regards to this. Then within England there will be a new 3 tier system in place from Dec 2. Again, this will differ to Scotland, Wales and Scotland. Each region in the UK will vary. Very confusing.

Why should UK be any different to Australia 🤔

If you want to fly Qantas, you'll need to be vaccinated.

Yup and other airlines are expected to enforce this as well. Along with countries as well.

Expect there will be some kind of biometric passport or something to prove you have a vaccine and all airlines will enforce this as a rule, they will operate as a block together.

I agree with it and if an airline didn’t enforce it (doubt any would risk it) I wouldn’t step foot on them :)

Sorry Byron Bay, no international travel for you in a while ;)

I'm wondering the impact for Bali!

Why, is that where all the anti vaxxers hang out?
Not sure but just a hunch. Or people that just don't bother with normal society "rules". We love Bali though - just got to pick the right place. Cancelled trip for late March.

Not age related, they are 69 and 70. Retired but active. More related to the measures in place where they live.

Compulsory vaccination for international travel through Qantas
Interesting news from Qantas, when the vaccine is not even out yet and not yet proven effective. Only the efficacy has been determined to be 90-95%. The effectiveness is not determined until the vaccine has been in use by the general public. This being the first vaccine in history to be developed in such a short time must be tested more, before governments and companies make it compulsory.
I am right there with you, I want international travel to open up, and need it to for work, but not sure I am comfortable being the guinea pigs for the rest of society.

Obviously different degrees of priority here. I will take every vaccine there is, and in my eyeballs if I have to, just to be able to travel and see family again, let them meet my new child and others that are growing too fast... not all of my family members are guaranteed to survive the timeline a normal vaccine would require approval for.

Don't worry, Australians won't be the first getting the vaccine, UK will be the guinea pigs for the Oxford one which we will most likely be using

Direct from Greg Hunt apparently, this does give me some optimism of being able to leave our fine country second half of 2021.

hasnt this been in mass production for months at this point while it was being tested with the idea being that if it was given the green light it would get pumped out like god bless you?
