Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

WA have aeromedical evacuation down to a fine art.Better than other state. As the person on the ground i only have to arrange the RFDS.A bed is found whilst the patient in the air.
Also helped by the Perth hospitals being on for the various conditions.cardiac problems go to one, liver disease to another.

NZ Flights now possible again by Christmas 2020.

https://www.traveller.com.au/nz-pm-...l-may-be-possible-before-christmas-h1r07yback on the table

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has said trans-Tasman travel to some states of Australia could happen before the end of the year, under a new 'hot spot' approach.

With also the news today of Vic dropping to just 5 new cases today, if that recent progress continues all of Australia should be hotspot free well prior to Christmas.

Seems like the idea has already gonski!

I disagree, if both countries have a solid run of zero cases, ignoring quarantine and cases like the ore carrier, it is only a matter of time till Australia/NZ flights resume even if daily sentiment fluctuates at present.

Nah, the link is dead. Irony doesn't translate well on the net. 😀

A travel bubble between New Zealand and New South Wales could be open within weeks, according to reports out of Australia.

But travel inside the bubble would initially only be one-way with Kiwis heading to Australia, and restricted to those living in the South Island.

With community outbreaks of coronavirus in hand both here and in the premier state, the federal government would initially only allow for Kiwi residents to come to Australia, according to a report from the Sunday Telegraph.

Those travellers wouldn't be required to quarantine once they arrived in Australia.

It does clearly state NSW residents and not residents of other states that are Covid free and have been for a long time. And currently just NZ coming into Australia and not vice versa. Seems unnecessarily divisive to me.

Not according to Dr Young and her special border clock  😂

I'm really worried QLD will be left out of all bubbles, including this one :(

Who knows, maybe NZ- MEL may happen before NZ-BNE..... we in Vic do at least already have no state border barriers from the Vic Gov ;)

Many Kiwis in Sydney and so that would be a strong lure for family reunions.

For Aussies trapped overseas many states are now upping the number of returnees allowed.

Only a matter of time now before Vic resumes International Quarantine in Vic too. Nov?

Huge amount of kiwis in Perth too, but they have no hope... less than us in QLD :(

And that would be a great move.

We really need to broach the idea of bracelets so people can isolate at home. Choice thing. Hotel stay or bracelet.

That would be a HUGE no for me until at least there is a vaccine. Bracelets will not stop visitors, and any visitors sneaking in, which in a home setting would be easy, would most likely get infected if the person in quarantine becomes positive.

ie You had a ADF member in NSW hotel quarantine who had a lady stay overnight. Just imagine if you had people quarantining in their own homes.

Then likely no overseas travel again if vaccines fail.

At this rate QF will run ADL-NZ direct flights before QLD opens up................

Oh, who am I kidding QF hate us 😂
You'll see lots of creative routings as a result of Covid, where airlines try to capture latent demand for travel when it is permitted. Look at QQ CBR-MCY-CNS for example. Not all of these will work but don't be surprised if QF launch all sorts of unexpected routes.
