I can see a number of pre- and post-event get togethers for attendees:

1. Pre flight Business Lounge departure (for those flying to SYD) - or even a Flounge opportunity perhaps (ex-MEL)
2. Pre-event drinks
3. Post event drinks (Hotel?)

No chance for me Lindsay. Firstly my domestic flying dropped considerably earlier in the year. As you know . Secondly as I am fortunate to be able to pay for premium cabins rather than take the upgrade lottery on international flights, I am not chasing status at the moment because I don't need it. Coupled with the fact that I have been choosing EK and VA over QF I am just happily sitting on QF SG right now. So no chance of WP for me, let alone WP1! (Though I do have a OWE card for the time being courtesy of CX and their deal with Amex). Maybe if I go back to work again...
