Have just noticed that QF have replaced the Airbus A330-200 with a 747-300 on the PER to MEL run.

What sort of business class seats are on the 747-300? Is it worth upgrading from economy using pts?

Do the business class seats have a personal TV? I'm guessing no AVOD.

thanks

This is due to the A330-200s going to JetStar International.

Dreamtime seats in business class

Yes personal IFE. Not AVOD. Economy cabin also has personal (non AVOD) screens throughout.

747-300s feature the Dreamtime J seats. While they are no Skybed, they are most definitely comfortable.

Not sure on how many points its requires to upgrade from Y-J on PER-MEL, but it is something I may consider. Do remember that the Economy offering on the 747-300 is very good too (okay, less pitch!).

The seats have PTVs, but as you have mentioned, lack AVOD.

Cheers

Perhaps serfty meant to type in KWHBY instead of KWHBJ! :D

Interesting that an upgrade from NOQ to J does not cost any QFF points! ;)

Flew to PER to MEL last week on this plane, upgraded to business and selected 5E, best seat on the plane. Both seats have aisle acces so you have no one getting up across you and you have your own locker in front and great leg room. They use international flight cew as well so very well looked after. PTV's with a great range of movies, TV and music. They also fly to Sydney on these aircraft, QF580 is normally available for upgrades. I always take this flight to Sydney when travelling for work.

Thanks JohnK, you are correct.

As for "an upgrade from NOQ to J does not cost any QFF points"; this is true, because it is not supposed to happen according to the program T&C's.

But if it does and you pay no QFF points then  :) :D  :D

I came back today on QF802 from Perth to Melbourne.
In the lounge they gave an annoucement that they had spare space in J for those wanting to upgrade for 16,000 points.
Great service and the 747 extra room most appreciated.
