It was attached in Sydney by the immigration people at secondary inspection

IIRC,
At the secondary they just looked at me and.m compared with photo in passport, swiped the machine code on the cover, looked at boarding pass, inserted the sticker. No Spanish Inquisition
Didn't know immigration got involved in stickergate - thought it was only the security company contracted by the airline who did that.

I want to know how they know to flick you to secondary. When the stickers were first introduced CSA's had to add an SSR to the pnr as to whether you got the full sticker (as pictured above in the OP), half sticker which is minus the bit underneath the date below the perforation. Kids under 12 were exempt.
Border Force (immigration) do not care nor do USA "security" work.Yes, but if the first mob for some reason don't check the pax off in'the system', I'm guessing that immigration is the next line. So no gate thoroughfare and they bung
the sticker in.
This isn't an immigration sticker. This is a sticker from security. They ask you questions, they put a sticker on your passport. This occurs for 100% of all USA bound customers now.
