Passing of a Monarch

No matter what you think the poms do pomp and ceremony extremely well.

Most of the press coverage has been great but then I haven't watched much just reading but they do want to put the boot into some people
I thought it was offensive to call people poms, much like you can't use certain terms to describe Chinese, Pakistanis, so on and so on.

I have been using the P B term here to those that call me a colonial.
Today we visited Kings Lynn Minster. They are having a memorial service for Her Majesty tomorrow evening. They were putting out literally hundreds of extra chairs. I enquired from one of the volunteers how many were expected to attend. He told me the Queen had suggested that when she died that the staff of Clarence House should attend a memorial in Kings Lynn and many are coming quaranteeing a large crowd of locals

I don’t consider it offensive and not sure if any of my English friends do either
Agree, my father is a Pom B as is my brother, my Mum, sister and I were born here and there has been internal family bantering over 40-50 years. OT I personally think political correctness/ inclusion has gone to far, my sister is gay and my oldest nephew is now my oldest niece. Lets just say the x2 annual family gathering is interesting.

That would be the final straw when we are not allowed to call pommies, well, pommies. World gone mad.

We walked back from Pattaya beach to hotel last night and I went to 7Eleven to buy a couple of beers. Walked out of 7Eleven and a familiar face from golf walked across the road from the bar to greet me. Hadn't seem him for a couple of years.

Had a quick chat and I mentioned I'm playing golf Monday. He said most from Brittain won't be playing golf Monday as they'll be following the funeral and they have shifted their golf plans for the week to accommodate.

I know I haven't watched this as much as others but haven't seen any mention of Princess Margaret's children.

Saw Anne's (Zara and one of the cousins I think) on TV the other day doing a walkabout to thank the public. Zara taking it very hard, barely (not) holding together. Really feel for them with the added pressure of the public eye on them.

Zara is Princess Anne’s daughter.
