Passing of a Monarch

No matter what your thoughts on the never ending coverage you have to spare a thought for her four children who seem to be in the public eye all the time and travelling all over the place. They must want a bit of peace to grieve quietly

Can you imagine all this pomp and ceremony wouldnā€™t have been allowed in the middle of Covid

Yes; while being part of the Royal Family has lots of perks, when it's time to do the 'hard yards' they can be very hard ones. Princess Anne looks like she's going to lose it emotionally any moment.

I can't conceive of being on permanent 'display' for a week after my mother died.

ā€œMy tolerance finished when I realised they had replaced Gardening Australia with endless livestreams of people doing nothing outside Buckingham Palace,ā€ one tweet read.

I have sympathy with that view. I've noted up-thread how its bizarre that the ABC is or was using both its regular and News channel for QEII & KCIII coverage. Isn't this type of thing why they have separate digital channels? I note that the ABC has sent a team - led by Virginia Trioli - off to London for 'coverage', so its not going to decrease anytime soon. Wonder where they got to stay?

Yes Princess Anne seems to be bearing it the hardest. Daughter Zara couldn't hold it together on a walkaround, makes me think that arm of the family had an extra bond. Feeling for them.

Easy to forget this is the second parent the family have lost in just under 18 months. Would take a toll irrespective of who you are.

From the Daily Mail:

Heathrow flights delayed to 'ensure silence' during coffin procession today
Heathrow Airport flights will be delayed so they do not disturb the Queen's coffin procession today.
The west London airport said in a statement that 'out of respect' for the mourning period it will be making 'appropriate alterations to our operation'.
These include flights being disrupted between 1.50pm and 3.40pm on Wednesday to 'ensure silence over central London as the ceremonial procession moves from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall'.

Given that there has mostly been cheering when the coffin has passed by, this seems a decision taken in planning, not practicality.

I think you're taking things a little too literally.

Itā€™s becoming rediculous.
