Re: The totally off-topic thread

7kg is entirely do-able
For JQ it's now a combined 7 kg total weight (2 items together must be 7kg or less). Many bags, even when empty, weigh at least 1.5 kg. Roll-aboards generally weigh more. Is there a light weight (1kg or so) roll-aboard bag? If so - I want one!

My roll-aboard is about 1.8kg. I keep looking for lighter, but am also yet to see one. I also use a backpack which is a bit lighter.

Hi JessicaTam,

You might want to get this luggage in the future

The cabin bag's details are listed below and only weighs 1.56 kg which includes two wheels giving you nearly 5.5kg of luggage space.

Here goes.

WORLD'S LIGHTEST 2 WHEEL TROLLEY CASE

You should be able to get these bags at Amazon.com or ebags.com and I think they cost around US$60-70

Samsonite have a carry on that supposedly weight 1.5kgs, it seems to be on special at the moment.

I would also add that I use those vacuum bags to put clothes into: The rollup type.

I can even do a couple of nights this way with just a mid sized laptop bag.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

With the drop in JQ's HL allowance from 10 to 7kg, I will have to be a little more prudent with my packing for my month away later this year.

I'm flying JQ to HNL for a week in December. Had opted to take only hand luggage, but even for me 7kg might be a bit of a stretch if I take my computer.

Costco has the soft cases also got about 40-50 about to pick one up after crunching my hardshell tourister carryon

Re: The totally off-topic thread

I find rolling up underwear and t shirts saves space and generally limits wrinkles

I use some packing cells I bought cheaply which makes it much easier to find stuff, especially if a cheap room has no space to unpack.

Have some bags that seal I might try this week going to bali. see if they save much space or not.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

I use packing cells - which are especially handy when temps are going to be vastly differently across a trip.

About to start packing today and will use 1 for Island stuff, 1 for city visiting and 1 for night when it is a lot cooler. That way, for the first week anyway, I only need to touch one of them.

The downside of packing cells is when your travel wardrobe tends to be mainly black...then it all looks the same!
