Hi all,

I was originally booked on a bmi (BD) flight from London to Dublin. The flight has since become a BA flight (with a BA flight number) due to the BA takeover of bmi. I am a OW Sapphire (QF Gold). The flight is leaving from Terminal 1 and I can't find any detailed information on lounge access at Terminal 1. What I do know is this:

1. My booking information list the following lounge in my terminal:
The Great British Lounge

Location: Terminal 1, Gate 5
Catch up on work before you travel, enjoy a snack or simply unwind in a relaxing area away from the busy airport environment.

2. OW has the following info:
oneworld lounge access for frequent flyers by tier status

Enjoy exclusive access to premium airport lounges around the world as an equivalent oneworld Emerald or Sapphirefrequent flyer member. Members of oneworld airline frequent flyer programmes with the equivalent of oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status can use any lounge offered by any oneworld airline when departing on any flight marketed and operated by any oneworld member airline*, no matter in which cabin class they are flying.
(* oneworld flights do not include codeshare flights with non-oneworld airlines, even those marketed by a oneworld Member but operated by a non-oneworld carrier or those operated by a oneworld Member but marketed by a non-oneworld carrier)

Does anybody have any experience with this lounge or this situation? While my flight is operated by BA, I'm not sure if it is marketed by BA or BD now... it's a bit unclear in the transition from BD to BA. Has anybody got any more information?

Thanks for your help in advance :)

Ba number equals ba marketed.

Ausbt had previously posted a lounge review.

Thanks for the fast replies! I should correct my OP: it's BA marketed but BD operated, apparently. Having said that, the article above makes it sound like BA flight number = no problems.

I fly out tomorrow; will let you know how it goes.

Thanks!

Currently posting from the lounge :) It's actually the "UK & Ireland Lounge" next to Gate 8, rather than the "International Lounge" next to Gate 5, as they are both behind different security gates in Terminal 1. There are signs out the front with BMI/BA/OW entry criteria (OW Sapphire/Emerald) but once inside there aren't many logos lying around at all. You have to look hard to find some old bmi documentation but the staff are all BA.

BA flight number = no problems, as predicted.

Thanks all

so is it different to the one in the ausbt article with pics?

Yep. There's a further security checkpoint after the second screening at Terminal 1, where the terminal divides into Gates 1-5 & Gates 7-8,77-90. This lounge is in the Gate 8 section.
