Yes: -a good acheivment. How many have you used in rewards/upgrades ?
I think I have spent a tad over 500,000 QFF points. There were 3 Oneworld awards, an around Australia, a positioning flight to BKK in BA economy back in 2007 and a one-way redemption to Ozfest in BNE when I did not know better.

However even if QF is around when you want to use them, they almost certainely will be devalued compared to today, such is the way with FFP's enhancements.
I would not wish that on my worst enemy.

And I hope someone has your QF freq flyer number & QF pin, in case you do not make it out of the 19th some time (you have my personal email address :p )
My family (both parents and brother) are not interested in flying so no point giving them my QFF number and pin.

Still searching for that special person that would like to do some travel with me. I think I have found her but she is never home.

I may try the classifieds advertising free flights and accommodation

Ah, but you can book flight for you [-]uncle[/-] Mwenenzi without transferring points directly.:D
JohnK is my younger cousin (by not many years). ;)
Anyway 10 years at 100,000 points per year is OK

Congrats! 1m, quite and achievement!! are you going to start to burn?? I've just burned 550k on J to LAX return for 3 of us. 3 years ago I burned through about 300k for Y on same route.
Oh how I would love to start spending them now.

Unfortunately another 18-24 months before I am ready.

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

I've just spent nearly 470,000 booking 2 kittens to Paris and back next year. Their father is a soft touch, I'm afraid.

And by then you'd have even more points !:cool:
Fingers crossed for no significant devaluations though...

Earn and Burn.....earn and burn......earn and burn.......
Good strategy if you want to waste points on upgrades.

Not a good strategy if you are saving for something special.

But in todays day and age where loyalty means nothing and greed wins out anything is possible.

I've really enjoyed having the odd upgrade and free flights so not sure it's anything to do with greed, just enjoying the fruits?

I look at it completely different. QFF is not a bank vault, it's a commercial program that is devaluing all the time. Better to spend, enjoy and live life.

I've used the great majority of my points on classic awards taking the family on OS trips......using points for upgrades when you're looking for 4 tickets means you're going to be disappointed.

I did not refer to upgrades people receive as greed.

The people that run corporations are motivated by greed and do not care about the little person.

And this is where I see things differently to a lot of people.

OK. Qantas wants to run a loyalty scheme? It has to have in reserve the ability to pay every single person what they are owed. In a way a bank vault if you like. Has to be supervised. Has to be auditable. Cannot be embezzled.

And the same goes for any loyalty scheme. You can't set up a loyalty scheme and then attach a zero value to it which is what happens now.

But as I mentioned earlier our society is motivated by greed. And greed will win out.

Yes you are quite right, it is hard to get upgrades for 4, but I do use points for upgrades if not travelling with the family. I do try to get upgrades when travelling with the family and did get upgrades for 4 from Y to PE with QF Singapore to Sydney on the 380 a few years ago. But this is rare and usually I use classic awards with the family. It depends what is possible at the time.

Of course, QFF points devalue over time, so does money. A dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow. People try to overcome the time value of money through smart investments etc. People should also try to overcome the time value of FF points in whatever way they think best. Using them is probably the best way

Our one & only upgrade win 4 x Y to J SYD-SIN Good Friday this year. I'm thinking the trick is to fly when everyone else doesn't want to.
