There are 2 Lotus Lounges - 1 and 2 - 1 is upstairs - 2 downstairs - I have only ever been in 1 - it is as others have mentioned quite acceptable without being spectacular

Even if technically yes,
Would someone from SQ be able to confirm before you purchase the tickets?.

I suspect they would never 100% guarantee
I'd be somewhat more confident if the first flight was ex-SIN. They through-checked bags on SIN-HKG (SQ) connecting to HKG-MEL (CX) for me a couple of years ago but were initially reluctant. My main concern is whether the ground staff in CGK will do it. Otherwise I might be better off entering and checking in again in Singapore after the first leg.

Agree
If CGK unable then ask at Transfer Desk A or B at T3. The desks are at either end of the terminal building

A is on the end of the terminal building near the A Gates and B nearer the B gates

I'm going via SQ. Perth to DAD then Hanoi back to Perth. At 44,000 singapore points each way and a hundred or so dollars well worth while I think in biz at decent times. Not so sure about VN at the moment after MUC.

Any recent DP's on whether Singapore Airlines will through check baggage on separate tickets flying CGK-SIN-SGN on SQ - J class and SGN-MEL on VN in J class? This will determine if I book the early arrival into SGN at 1530 or the 1840 arrival for a 2110 departure to Melbourne.
Following up with a conclusion to this query. Although I was more comfortable with the timing of the earlier SQ flight I decided on the later SQ186 arrival into SGN despite the separate ticket risk. I ended up booking two SQ F saver awards on a CGK-SIN-SGN itinerary. The F class check-in agent in CGK was able to check our bags through to MEL with no issue but said they couldn't issue VN boarding passes and advised us to get them from the transfer desk when we arrive in SGN. I wasn't overly comfortable having to wait until SGN to have boarding passes so I successfully managed to get mobile boarding passes through the VN website. We were fortunate as we landed in SGN just before a few other bigger international flights were due so whilst there were queues for Immigration there were no queues at the international transfer area. I went to the VN transfer desk anyway to check if mobile boarding passes were acceptable and was told they were. There were no other passengers in the queue at transit security and we ended up in the Lotus lounge 2 by 0700 PM. When we got to the departure boarding gate we were specifically asked to see the gate staff to check our boarding pass and passport but there were nil issues using a mobile boarding pass. The decision to opt for the later SQ was a little risky but thanks to the advice given here I had a couple of contingency plans in place. The calculated risk afforded us an extra couple of hours indulging in TPR at Changi (including the SQ F Concierge treatment and buggy pick-up/drop off escort).
