Doesn’t buying / using a gift voucher save the booking cc fee? Why wouldn’t people buy them every time they were going to make a bkg?
I sometimes do bother to do that, but since the new legislation on surcharging and the ensuing ACCC crackdown, I just suck it up and pay the extra couple of dollars rather than spend time buying a voucher, waiting for the voucher to issue, using their separate voucher booking interface, then complaining to them because it then doesn't ticket properly...
Depending on circumstances I also sometimes use Amex Travel to avoid the CC surcharge - I'm not a huge fan of Amex Travel and their prices for hotels etc often aren't great, but for your typical domestic or trans-Tasman QF airfare their prices will be the same as everywhere else, but with no CC surcharge.
