New QFF Status Renewal Packs?

I think the packaging they used when they launched the new NGCi thing was great! Don't know why they changed it.

The new packaging isn’t bad, the tags come in a box with a removable lid essentially, instead of a foldout book.

The Virgin Australia Velocity packs still easily beat the Qantas packs though.

The new tags are definitely darker than the original release. I've seen the new ones and they are nearly as dark as the old tags pre NGCI

Hey do they still give out plastic tags?

I prefer those for small bags than the big electronic ones.

That fold-out book that they were giving out (mid-2011 I think) was so bad. It wouldn't be hard to better that presentation. The new one is quite acceptable - perhaps not as nice though. Call me a marketer's dream and a sucker for packaging, but there was a real sense of ceremony with removing the ribbon around the package and opening a little box.

It was quite cool.

WP's get the same girl, but the paper stock is glossy, while NB's just get a photocopy of Magda Zubanski in a thong...

I just went and checked my Plat renewal pack from December last year, and rather than "gold/plat privilege girl", I got "some dude on a boardwalk"

My Gold card arrived a few weeks ago and I couldn't quite work out why there was a picture of a woman in a white dress running through a field - and what that had to do with hauling 700 SC.

I fail to see where my complaint is in my OP :

I re-qualified Gold back in August 2011 and haven't done any flying with QF subsequently (my status year is 28 Feb). The renewal kit/pack came through today - a month early, nice to have it already.

However, rather than the normal covering letter with the kit, it has changed to a fold out brochure-like feel. Covers off all the benefits of Gold, without having to enclose all the normal booklets etc.

Has anybody else noticed this change?

In my back to WP pack I got new Plat Q bag tags. The one on the left was one of my original Plat tags, prior to dropping back to SG, the one on the right is one of new ones. - as mentioned above they are now with 50% extra platinum for the extra platinum look

No chance of being mistaken for silver now, and (at least from that shot anyway) quite a chance of being mistaken for CL
