Hmm it certainly doesn't feel faster...The improvements mean that customers will now have their page load times halved, making qantas.com consistently faster.

Update:
The new-look homepage is the first in a number of steps to make qantas.com easier to use, and more personalised for customers each time they visit. The re-design incorporates our new brand guidelines as well as months of data-driven research and user testing.

Keep the feedback coming...
A quick inspection suggests to me that Chrome is at fault here. Right Click and select Inspect Element and it nips back across to its correct position......Red Roo, the banner on the new homepage doesn't align properly (see attached). Also I have cleared my cookies and cache. Windows 10 & Chrome.
Any website with a banner that size is a very bad design.Update:
From today, Australia-based customers who visit qantas.com will experience a brand new homepage.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
It's ugly. Hiding the FF login boxes and adding such large banner images at the top of the page is very poor design, quite annoying and a major backwards step.Just noticed the homepage we've been seeing has gone live as the main homepage ( as RedRoo posted above)
I haven't had much of a play but I actually really like the look of it.. Very modern and contemporary.
Not if you are a marketing guru.... It is a very poor design.
Which is a major problem. It completely ignores the entire reason people go to these websites. Users go to the site to do something. These banners make it harder for the user to do that, which then makes them unlikely to complete what they had gone there to do, go elsewhere to complete their task and reduce the chance that they return to that site. Not if you are a marketing guru.
Those home pages aren't targeted at members or other regular users, these pages are seen as billboards and are targeted more at those who don't use the web site very often. Those wide ads are right where people first look.
Thanks. I don't use FireFox or Chrome, I use Avant which includes the kernels of IE, FireFox and Chrome (you can switch between them) and can use add ons for any of those browsers.I personally don't like it but is easily avoided for those using FireFox or Chrome ... see post #43 ...
(My Ad-block element hiding filter is "qantas.com.au##.section.section-hcps".)
I never indicated marketeers were smart ......
In reality, these banners (especially that sort of size) do the complete opposite what what the "marketers" intend.
...
Looks fine to me. As with everything, it'll take a while to get used to, but I'm sure I'll grow to get used to it in a few days.
Agreed. Few chicken littles I'm sure though. Only thing for me is booking a restaurant is a bit hard now used to be a sub link.
!??! they have done away with the Gift Voucher function that was available on the home page ...![]()
