Air NZ renaming loyalty program to Koru, introducing Black tier

Air New Zealand will rebrand its Airpoints program to Koru in April 2026.

Other than the name change, it seems the only real difference will be a new "Koru Black" tier which sits above Platinum.

Koru Silver getting priority boarding is an interesting development, probably means boarding with the Koru club paid members. When 2/3rd of the pax has "priority boarding" it becomes meaningless.

I hope Koru lifetime status can be rolled out soon, so that Australians can sooner become Lifetime OneWorld and Star Alliance Gold, and we can bring hundreds of kilograms of supplies into Australia without getting slugged extra.
