I noticed today there's also a new route to Miles, QLD, from BNE. Booked myself on the first flight...

I received a call today to the effect the first services to Miles have been delayed till June 16 (from April 14). Explanation was that the council hadn't set the airport up correctly yet (though as my services were Q300 I thought security wasn't an issue, being under 20 tonnes). Either way, now I'm no longer on the first service and look likely to have a refund.

No. I leave to Europe on Qantas on the 11th June to 1st July

I'm not following?

I wanted to be on the first flight, but I wont be. It's not a big shame, but when I do get the chance to fly the route I'd prefer to fly for the same price (assuming prices go up) than have to pay more because the council couldn't order a metal detector in time

My comment, perhaps poorly worded, was suggesting that a trip to Europe was preferable to being on the first flight to Miles.

Seems abit weird given the 40+ flights a week already going into miles.
