Row 1 and 2 may be available after T-80 to give all the P1s who will be flying to HVB a shot at the front rows.

Exactly. Its no different to what I see on a b737 flight as plat. First two rows are blocked until t-80.

Yes the seat map ive seen shows

00 0x0
00 0x0
00 0x0
00 000
00 000
00 000

And so on

SYD-KTA-SYD flights have J cabin available to Platinums in economy- making it a great deal for a long haul domestic flight (of course you do have to go to KTA...). Suspect it will be the same for HVB

They seem to be quite selective as to who gets in however- have been spare J seats but a fuller Y cabin.

As a platinum booking economy class I am able to select Row 3 on this syd-hvb service. which is a business class seat. row 1 and 2 are blocked out. so no its not a 98 seat y only flight. it is a 110 seat y only flight with elites sitting up the front but getting y service

Having now booked for myself, as I want to cross the route off my list, I am not seeing the same as you, as a P1.

I can see the whole plane, no other seats selected, so it should be a nice flight in that respect, but I can't see forward of row 4.

Ill look again on sabre tomorrow and post a screen shot but that's not what I saw when I looked

Sabre on QF?

I see Red Roo is browsing too, maybe they can shed some light on getting me bumped up a few rows :D

Can't a Roo browse in peace? ;)

In answer to our your question, QF use Amadeus not Sabre. It may be best to have a chat to the P1 team about getting "bumped".

yes amazingly enough SABRE based agents can book Qantas flights and even view seat maps! As I said, on SABRE the seatmap showed what I said above but I am not in front of my sabre at the moment, I'll look again tomorrow.

Had a voucher left over (bought at Christmas) after a previous booking so decided SWMBO and I should have a getaway to HTI for October long weekend. Very good value from QF at $139pp each way, we are very much looking forward to the trip!

Thats a nice pickup there - actually way cheaper than the JQ Starter fares on those October long weekend dates. :D

Shows it there, but not available to be chosen once you make a booking :p

interesting as I selected row 3 and it came back KK (confirmed) - however i didn't go as far as completing the booking.

Now I don't like to denigrate my home town but I have never understood what people see in the Big Banana; each to his own. As it happens I live almost next door to it.

There are other "attractions" that make it a nice place to live or visit.

I'm doing a bit of FIFO to PNG at present but if I'm in town when you visit I'd be happy to catch up.

JV

Yeh, I bet all the tourist buses must rock up day in, day out so that tourists take happy snaps outside the iconic attraction.

I think as a nation we are Renown for our " big " attractions, like the Big Pineapple, The Big Marino, The Big Prawn etc.

Jokes aside , I know Coffs Harbour has many other attractions, particularly some great beaches.

With the launch of this new route I can't wait to check out Coffs Harbour myself sometime soon!

Out of town from 18/3 to 2/4 or thereabouts. JV

Perhaps I'll give you my booking ref and you can have a play ;)
I have just booked MEL-SYD-HVB-SYD-MEL on the 17th May to celebrate the inaugural flight(s). After booking I selected 3D on the two HVB sectors without a hitch. Samh004, please don't kick my seat from back in row 4! :)

Anyone want to come along and celebrate in HVB for 40 minutes?

As an update, the seat map changed, I'm still the only one who has selected a seat, but now a little further forward...

Thanks Qantas! :p
