Just some confirmation, are P1’s allowed in the EK lounge at LHR (flying QF2/10 non F)? Last time I flew out I asked at check in about it and they said only First class QF (Curious for my dad who is now a P1)

No they aren’t permitted access.

The opening is getting really close apparently. The check in agent said it was supposed to be today, but there was a hold up.

There were workers outside the white hoardings when I walked by, and I got a glimpse inside. The glass enrty doors are right behind the hoardings. It looks like ... a Qantas lounge :)

Apparently opening may be Friday with QF staff doing walk throughs this week. Might be soft as suggested above though. Will be through on Saturday to suss it out. Going to take a few visits to perfect the CX to QF lounge time ratio.

Well I guess the opening has slipped to a date beyond when I’ll be at Heathrow. I intended to spend most of my time in the CX Lounge anyway so no great loss.

Will be interesting to hear what others think of the new QF Lounge and to try it at some point in the future.

Can confirm next week should be the case. I am currently in CX F at took the exact same photo as above.

The CX Lounge angels (who are always incredibly welcoming) were saying it was supposed to be open today but they need to do some work over the weekend so next week end of month SHOULD be opening but given the endless postponements who really knows.

Nov29 was just too late for me. A few days makes all the difference. I’m sure I’ll get a chance to use it in a year or two.

Quite pleased, I will get to visit next year on a BA flight LHR-BCN which I thiiink departs from T3.

Lounge Locations | Europe | United Kingdom | London Heathrow Airport | International Lounge

They appear to have changed the access rules overnight in conjunction with the lounge opening.

No access by dint of oneworld emerald/sapphire status when travelling on a flight marketed or operated by EK, but if traveling so in F or J then yes with the updated rules.

I'd expect many eligible emerald PAX to continue to use the CX F lounge (or AA) - à la carte dining with a reasonable variety of choice. Also, gin doesn't do it for everyone while Champagne I would suggest is more popular; with also (Noting that Champagne is not listed as an available beverage; in practice I suspect something discretely different).

I suspect Qantas won't be advertising to QF PAX any other option other than this lounge. A bit like the availability of the AA T3 arrivals lounge for QF inbound First and Business passengers - that is no longer advertised on the Qantas.web site as an option, even though it continues to be the case.

On the contrary - I don't drink champagne but I am keen to try many many gins:D

er since when would oneworld status ever ge you into a QF lounge for an EK service anyway?

That aside, the lounge looks pretty nice - most certainly for J pax, and I dare say is likely better than the BA F lounge in T3 (not sure about CX as I've never been in). It certainly seems a really nice addition to the lounge network for QF and a viable option when flying out of T3 I think.
