I'm in the 'don't like' camp but I was able to register an upgrade request this morning.

For most upgrade requests, save for a stock-standard, Vanilla, garden variety domestic ones (sometimes international), the QF website has been broken since they went and stuffed around with points required levels last year. Can't believe they still haven't fixed that!

It's actually the reverse for me. Domestic request, U class available, was broken last time I tried it. But the last international request was all done online without hassle. Whatever the situation, something is broken and I also can't believe it hasn't been fixed.

In fact, I sent feedback about the broken domestic upgrade request, had a phone call to advise that I can always just ring up. I don't want to waste 10 minutes calling when I should only need 90 seconds on a website.

You need to ring for upgrade requests. Don't stuff around with the website.
Why should I have to spend 100 times longer trying to do it on the phone then I should be able to spend doing it online?

I asked the QF Twitter team to do it (they were looking at the flights for another question) and they said sure, but nothings changed on the flight details.

Aren't we glad that not everyone is the same......I like it

Sent from my iPad using AustFreqFly mobile app

One thing which I have also found is that none of the bookings show the flight number. That is ridiculous !!!
You can view the flight number by clicking the little down arrow next to flight date & time. But the very fact that people can't easily find the flight number highlights how user unfriendly this is. One hopes it's an easy thing for QF to fix.

Its a bit sad and pathetic isn't it? So many issues with the Qantas website and its IT in general and the best they can do is this 'makeover', to appeal to the kiddies with tablets and phones - like, dude?.

Like others, I'm being told, as a WP that for an upcoming BA flight I need to purchase more baggage allowance.

I guess the Qantas fans will appreciate their airline trying to make money about upselling un-necessary bag allowances? Nice one - dude.

I agree. But if you want the upgrade you need to ring. In my case I couldn't be bothered to ring because I didn't want the upgrade that bad.

10 minutes? That's a tad over dramatic in my experience, I have always found the upgrade component of the website to be quite slow compared to what it should be.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The change is solely just to sell additional services to the unwary. As stated by others, the very misleading 'elite' baggage allowance statement is particularly poor. They have gone to the effort to state your status below your name (as if I do not know that), but did not write the small amount of code to adjust the baggage allowance accordingly.

On a tablet, it is way too much scrolling to get past all of the on-sell. The new system does not give you any more information than the old, it just makes it more difficult to access.

I understand that they want to create a more streamlined experience for users of iPads and the like but can the website not have a separate version for Desktop users? Usually websites have different versions for mobile devices etc. This is an honest question btw. No sarcasm etc intended.

1. No-one has a 56k modem these days, if stuck on that use 3G/4G
2. On a 1920x1080 screen I think it uses too little screen estate.

I think its quite decent, like the quick navigation column on the left.
That said 61 .js files is way over the top.

Although took me some time to find the Exit button.
Would have thought a "Back to My Bookings" on the navigation column would have been better design.

Sometimes the site needs to be accessed from places in the third world where internet is very flaky and expensive. In those cases, having simple, low bandwidth and fast to load pages is quite important - not that anyone on a NBN, ADSL2+ or HSDPA or higher connection in Australia would notice

hate the new page. why do they always have to f%#k with things, If its not dam broken, dont try & fix it.

One improvement is the fact that the fare class is not hidden anymore...

As in fare bucket?

AFAIK, that's the one thing that has been consistently available for existing bookings for the last decade and possibly lounger ...
