I'm new to this Qantas Business rewards and points. I've got 800K points and I want to take my family to Europe from ADL. Am flexible with dates from 1 Dec to 15 Jan. Flexi with which European city we fly into. I'm so overwhelmed and am not sure the best way to go about this. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

By Qantas Business rewards do you mean business class seats to EU?
Or the Qantas Business rewards scheme, where your business can get QF points as well as the passenger getting QF points

As above how many people and class of travel?
Are you able/can you split into 2 parties? Can they travel on different days/different route
Assume by "family to Europe" you mean out and back (return)

For business class general opinion is get to Asia by cash or separate tickets. Then business class awards Asia to EU and EU to Asia/AU.
2 separate one ways can be easier than a return. No need to have the same EU destination from AU/Asia and origin back to AU/Asia

Got another QF3/4 question...

• Mate is flying on QF3 SYD-AKL-JFK and QF4 JFK-AKL-SYD on the same ticket/PNR
• Mate has complimentary lounge invitations they want to use at AKL after the QF4 JFK-AKL leg
• Mate is QF Bronze/no status
• Unable to link, gets "Not available" error
• Travelling in March, doesn't seem to be a peak travel period
• Understand that can't use lounge passes at SYD due to the renovations and neither at JFK as no QF lounge

Is there a way to link the lounge pass just for the AKL-SYD leg?

Original booking was AKL-MEL-OOL, but then because of schedule changes on the second leg, I got my TA to reroute me for free via SYD instead for better timings. Can I still claim ORC after flying this?

ORC is only for involuntary changes. If you requested the change (or your TA requested it on your behalf) then it is voluntary and not involuntary and hence ORC is not valid for your scenario.

I managed to get MCY-SYD-DFW, in J in late June, as an award through AAdvantage. I am based in Melbourne, but MCY turned up on a search for BNE departure. I tried MEL, ADL, CBR as origins but they didn't work, nor did a SYD departure with no domestic flight. The same itinerary was available through QFF, but much higher in both points and copay.

Now it all looks to be confirmed in both AA and QF apps. On QF, both website and app, I can choose a seat on the domestic A220. But it won't allow seat selection on the A380 SYD-DFW (only aisle/window preference). I checked ExpertFlyer and the J cabin has tons of available seats. Why would I not be able to select a seat? Will a phone agent do so? If so, what number should I call?

Assuming if you booked via AA your AA FF# is on the booking. Do you have any status with AA?

It is my understanding that QF only allow free seat selection for those that book direct with Qantas or have appropriate OneWorld Status.

Seat selection in business class is free, regardless of any status.

The main issue is that Qantas restricts available seating based on status. The higher the status, the more of the seat map you’ll see.

If your status is low (or zero), all the seats available may already have been selected. So you’ll get the message to choose window or aisle.

At T-80 (80 hours before departure) the seat map is opened up, so you’ll have access to all the previously restricted rows. That’s the time to jump on an snag a good seat

Seat selection is free in premium cabins. Regardless of status or booking channel.

I’m not sure. But on a 737, only the last row is available. So I guess by extrapolation you might have 8-12 business class seats on a 787 for example, or double that on the A380.

That’s for basic entry level, additional rows get given the higher your status.

You won’t get DSC on JQ but you should be able to claim ORC if you’re worse off.

Not in MEL just in CBR and ADL.

Name changes are permitted and in the case of CRs will require a ticket cancellation with appropriate fee and then issue of a new ticket

My qantas link for resetting pin is not working, I have been calling Qantas frequent flyer line and talking to some one from phillipines for days now, Can we please find a way to just re set the pin?
I am not sure, If I can give my frequent flyer number here?

Have you tried resetting your PIN by getting a Code to your Mobile Number?
Click here Forgot PIN and you will Find the LINK next to PIN
You will be prompted to enter your FF Number (Membership Number) and your Last Name, follow the prompts.
