For those wondering about the Qantas Club kits, they should arrive in about 7-14 days. However, if you need to visit the Qantas lounge before then, just jot down your FF number and get the desk person to check your status. You'll be into the lounge in no time!
It should actually appear on the boarding pass - either QANTAS CLUB BRONZE QF1234567 or QC SILVER ONEWORLD RUBY QF1234567.

Details on how our GOLD members can take advantage of our Qantas Club Corporate scheme have now been posted on the GOLD MEMBERSHIP PRIVILEGES forum.

If you are not a GOLD member, click HERE for more information about our membership levels and the massive benefis of being a GOLD member. :D

(If you choose not to become a GOLD member and want to join a Qantas Club Corporate scheme do a Google Search. You may well find that you already are a member of an organisation/club/professional body which have their own scheme and you can therefore get the discount.)

Yes. We are just waiting for the full documentation from Qantas before we make the announcement.

Essentially all our GOLD subscribers will have an additional benefit - access to our Corporate Qantas Club program. This will amount to a savings of $200 when initially joining the program, and a saving of $70 per year when renewing Qantas Club membership.
I'm wondering how this program got to be hijacked by the Gold subscribers - none of their money was used to set it up was it?
I would prefer that it remain as an 'all memebers' benefit

I applaud you for adding this:)

Doug

The offer was available to all members for quite a while when trying to find the founding members for the scheme who were prepared to take the risk of being the guinea pigs.

It seems perfectly reasonable to me that the financial benefits be limited to those who aid in the upkeep of the site rather than to anyone who comes across this site on the internet. The new member saving is $200 for an outlay of $50 towards the running costs of AFF. This still saves $150 on its own.

I've gotta agree with Dave.
Whilst we all appreciate the work that was put into this. I volunteered in April as an exsisting QC member and that was the last I heard. It wasnt until logging in after a few week break that I learnt that the numbers were in and it was all closed. I also understood, only recently, that only new applicants were wanted.
There were also posts suggesting that for a limited time ordinary members could use the corporate facilty without becoming a GOLD member.

Our corporate scheme is currently open to all our registered members - not just GOLD subscribers. So, if you are not a GOLD subscriber and wish to join our corporate scheme, get your form to me ASAP!

Except that "exsisting members" membership is not ready yet - "CATCH 22"

TonyD,

Could you clarify a little :?: You say you agree with Dave yet you seem to want to go the way of DougR. Not sure what you mean :!:

Now I understand. I do however agree with Dave Noble on this one, and I often disagree with him.

I have to say that my understanding was that the initial drive was for new members and that's what has occurred. Like anything else it's up to the 'management' to make the rules as they see fit and to benefit the majority. I would suggest looking at the Gold membership option as I believe it more than pays for itself in many ways irrespective of QP membership. Travel Insurance is the obvious winner before considering anything else.

I assume you mean reduced rate Travel Insurance, as QC membership itself does not offer any insurance benefits?

I really enjoy the lack of ads...

Oh...I had forgotten they even plagued this forum. I consider $50 a pretty good outlay for the wealth of knowledge and advice one can extract from this forum.

That's correct.

FWIW, the stinge in me agrees with DougR, but the logical person in me agrees with Dave by far.

Hey, whatever floats your boat!
I actually often make use of the adverts.
Worth repeating this from Admin dated 8/8/07

Me thinks you need to plead tour case to admin rather than the forums.

Actually, it's no longer 'worth repeating'. The scheme has now been established and the names of the 11 foundation members (myself included) have been etched into the history books. As far as I am aware the privilege is now only available to Gold Members.

As not only a FOUNDING member, but also the instigator of this particular thread I feel I could have a tiny voice in what is being said here.

If I may suggest to the management that those ppl that registered their interest (prior to the announcement that sufficient numbers had been reached), but were already QC members, should be permitted to join this group.

I would certainly only limit it to those that responded prior to the establishment of this group. I do recall that when this first started, there was a call for anyone that wanted to join the group, then it was realised that it had to be NEW members.

From a customer service perspective I would suggest that those that did advise interest in joining by way of a message in the forum, or a message direct to Admin should be permitted to join in the group.

I can't imagine that there are very many. However, just to ease the peace and try and have a win win for all this maybe an option worth conisdering.

From my side, now I have this founding member status, I am now considering parting with the membership fee because I see the value in this site, and may well be happy to contribute to the ongoing success of this site.

That's my two bobs worth to try and patch this up...
